2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V Update Details
As Hero has teased a new photo online, it appears to be a hint for the upcoming update of the Xpulse. The instrument console shown is similar to that of the Xpulse. But, there are four riding modes visible to choose from in this teaser image. This probably means that the new model will get riding modes. However, we think there is a catch to it. Hero is expected to fit a dual-channel ABS system on it. Hence, these modes can possibly be ABS modes. For example, by switching to road mode - both ABS sensors will work. By switching to off-road mode - only the front ABS will work. Last but not least, in the Rally mode - both ABS sensors will switch off for more traction.
Meanwhile, the mechanical setup on the updated motorcycle shall remain unchanged. This means that the 199.6cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine will remain more or less unchanged on it. This BS6 Phase 2 compliant motor produces 18.8 bhp of peak power & 17.35 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. While this power figure is good for beginners, experienced riders have complained about its lack of outright performance. Hence, a bigger Xpulse 400 is in the works. It is expected to launch early next year in India.
Verdict
With the switchable ABS modes, Hero might also add up a few more connected features on the updated Xpulse. The new model shall launch in the coming weeks in India. As it'll offer new features, its prices will witness a hike. The current motorcycle costs Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
