Last Updated on 30th June'25 : Honda has introduced a new ‘Lite’ subscription plan for the Activa e electric scooter, priced at just Rs 800/month (inclusive of GST), significantly reducing the cost from the earlier ‘Basic’ plan priced at Rs 2,358/month. Aimed at budget-conscious riders, the Lite plan offers a 20 kWh monthly energy quota, translating to around 600 km of range or 20 km daily. After this limit, users pay Rs 70 per battery swap, compared to Rs 35 under the Basic plan. The Activa E relies on Honda’s swappable battery setup and users on the Lite plan get six full swaps within the quota. Beyond that, the pay-as-you-go model kicks in. While this suits predictable city commuters, the limited battery swap network remains a bottleneck.
Honda Activa Electric is the first electric scooter offered by the Japanese two-wheeler maker in India. The brand has launched the scooter at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom) for the normal variant and the Roadsync connected variant has been launched at Rs 1.51 lakh (Ex-showroom). The Activa Electric comes with swappable battery technology and offers a range of 102 km on a single charge.

The Activa e: marks a new beginning for Honda as it enters the Indian electric scooter segment. While it does offer a decent set of features and reasonable performance figures, the reach of swappable battery packs remains limited to a few cities, but Honda is expanding on that front. The design of the Activa e:combines form and function; like many modern scooters, its headlight is placed on the lower part of the front apron. This is similar to the CUV e, which the Activa e: seems to draw heavy inspiration from.

The overall profile of the Activa e: remains crisp, clean and devoid of any dramatic cuts or creases, thus following in the footsteps of its combustion-engined sibling, which also plays it safe with a design that pleases everyone.

The slim LED tail lights look premium, and the casing for the hub-mounted electric motor looks similar to the casing on the petrol-powered Activa.

The Activa e: is powered by a synchronous electric motor, which produces 8bhp and 22Nm of peak power and torque respectively, enabling it to reach a claimed top speed of 80kmph.

It gets two 1.5kWh removable battery packs, which are swappable, and they give the scooter a claimed range of 102km on a single charge.

Honda is in the process of setting up its battery-swapping network called the Honda e:SWAP stations, which will give you fresh, fully charged batteries in about one minute.
