Force Motors was present at the 2020 Auto Expo and while we all had our eyes stuck at the lunatic Explorer edition, Force also showcased the 2020 Gurkha BS6. Towards the end of 2020, we may see the launch of the Force Gurkha BS6 as the car has been spied - in production-spec - at Force Motors' manufacturing facility. Force is expected to launch the new Gurkha near this festive season and it will be priced in line with 2020 Mahindra Thar.

The Gurkha has always been a preferred choice of offroad enthusiasts thanks to its brilliant underpinnings and offroad credentials. But Force never offered the regular car-like experience with the Gurkha. Force has worked on the same factor this time by offering better interiors and some creature comfort features. On the exteriors, we have a new redesigned grille and bumper flanked with all-LED headlights. Talking about offroad equipment, we have a fantastic approach, ramp over and departure angles along with a working snorkel, roof ladder and a roof rack.

Moving to the side of the Gurkha, we have 5-spoke machine-cut alloy wheels shod with all-terrain tyres. The rear profile of the new Gurkha gets LED taillights and boot-mounted spare wheel. Moving into the interiors of the new Gurkha, we get a much better layout when compared to the previous car. The dashboard gets four AC vents along with touchscreen infotainment in the centre. The dashboard is expected to come in a dual-tone layout, however, features like cruise control or steering mounted controls will be given a miss.

The 2020 Force Gurkha BS6 will get a heavily revised version of the Mercedes' OM616-derived 2.6-litre diesel engine. The 2.6-litre diesel engine will churn out 90hp and 250 Nm of torque mated to 5-speed manual transmission. The Gurkha will sport some capable offroad equipment which will be further clarified at launch. The 2020 Force Gurkha BS6 now may feel short on features and equipment as we have the new Mahindra Thar at an amazing price. Force will have to price the Gurkha competitively and lower than the Thar to justify the deficit.
