Bajaj Blade trademark name patent has been filed by the company. The new name patent hints towards a new electric product in the making.
It is no hidden fact that Bajaj is working on an extensive expansion of its lineup. The expansion plan is dedicated to all the ICE-powered as well as electric vehicles. Adding to this expansion is the news which states a new brand name is being filed for patent. Bajaj Blade trademark name has been filed for patent approval which hints toward either an upcoming e-scooter or a new commuter motorcycle.

Bajaj Blade E-Scooter?
Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has already made its place among the established EV two-wheeler in India. The company is already working towards the expansion of its e-scooters lineup. Bajaj has already made it clear that it'll introduce new products under the belt name of Chetak. Recently, a new e-scooter test mule from Bajaj was spied testing.
With new products being tested, this could very well be a new scooter in the EV lineup. To support this anticipation is the Bajaj Blade prototype scooter which the company showcased back in 2006. This scooter was on display at the Indian Auto Expo 2006 with an almost production-ready outfit. Although Bajaj tried to register the Blade trademark back then it somehow got rejected. Later, Mahindra two-wheelers registered this trademark later on.
This can also possibly mean that if it's a new e-scooter; it will be bigger than Chetak. The Blade scooter prototype was a 125cc scooter, hence, this assumption makes more sense. We are not sure how Bajaj plans to introduce the Blade trademark in 2022. While the expansion spree is on, Bajaj's statement about its new EVs makes the introduction of the Blade e-scooter more skeptical.
Bajaj Blade Motorcycle?
The Blade name trademark patent is filed under Class 12 of the registration. This class is dedicated to multiple products including scooters, motorcycles, e-scooters, and even three-wheelers. This solidifies the assumption that Bajaj Blade is strictly not an e-scooter.
Bajaj is already known for using funky names for its commuter motorcycles. Thus, is it going to be a new commuter motorcycle? Because Bajaj is already working on a newer generation of its Pulsar bikes. Hence, Blade can very well become a new commuter bike that might compete with the tech-loaded rivals.
Also, Bajaj will not exceed its Chetak brand name for a new e-scooter. If the company is developing a new bike under this name; it can be a replacement in the entry-level commuter segment. Currently, the Bajaj Platina 110 and Bajaj CT 100 are the commuter bikes that the company sells profoundly pan India.
