In the global market, the Nissan Micra has had a good run. Nissan has now announced a new compact electric vehicle that will take the place of the famous Nissan Micra which was sold in India as well. This product will be all-electric and offered first in European markets as part of the new Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance 2030 strategy. Although the brand has not released any details regarding the Nissan EV India launch.
The new Nissan EV will be produced in France at the Renault ElectriCity facility and will be part of Nissan's entry-level lineup. As part of the new Alliance 2030 plan, it is designed by Nissan and engineered and constructed by Renault on the Alliance CMF B-EV platform.

Nissan has also teased the front appearance of its forthcoming electric vehicle, which features a sloping front end with round LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights.
Speaking about the launch of Nissan EV Ashwani Gupta, Nissans Chief Operating Officer said "This all-new model will be designed by Nissan and engineered and manufactured by Renault using our new common platform, maximizing the use of our Alliance assets while maintaining its Nissan-ness."
He also added, "This is a great example of the Alliances 'smart differentiation" approach. Succeeding our iconic Micra, I am sure this new model will provide further excitement to our customers in Europe."
With its popular Leaf and electric light commercial vehicles like the e-NV200, Nissan already has a strong presence in the electric car category. The new Ariya SUV will also add to the company's electric car lineup.
This new electric car, which will serve as the company's new entry point, would most likely come with a value-oriented price tag. In due course, more product specifics, including the name, launch date, and technical specifications, will be disclosed.

Renault-Nissan is already working as a joint venture in India. Both manufacturers currently sell a variety of automobiles in India, they are all made in the same factory near Chennai. Renault and Nissan also use India as a significant export hub. In terms of electric vehicles, neither Renault nor Nissan have announced plans to introduce them in India.
