Ola S1 Electric Scooter Money Refund Details
A recent report revealed that Ola Electric has been charging its customers illegally for chargers sold separately. Additionally, the same report also claims that Ola has been doing this since 2019. As per the rules, this is completely wrong and illegal. But, why Ola did do this? Well, a few EV manufacturers have found their way out of a specific problem. The problem is the high cost of EV products. However, to avail of FAME II subsidies, companies tend to sell the parts like chargers, etc., as accessories. This not only leads to the availability of subsidies but also helps in raising money from customers.
However, it is completely unjust and the report has led ARAI to take strict action on OLA. Meanwhile, Ola has already accepted that it did this and is now eyeing to refund all of its customers. Therefore, if you're also one of the customers who paid for an Ola charger, get prepared for a complete refund soon. Ola will be refunded a total of Rs 130 crores to its customers pan India who have suffered from this unjust. There are also online claims that ARAI is not planning to pursue this case any further as Ola has already started refunding the owed money to its customers.
Verdict
The EV revolution has definitely proved to be a big step ahead in the Indian two-wheeler industry. However, such unjust practices need to be taken care of properly. Hence, the government intends to correct and readjust the laws related to EVs in order to make things easy for customers in the future.
