OnePlus EV Trademark Application Stands 'Objected' in India

OnePlus, along with Vivo and Oppo had applied trademark for their upcoming fleet of electric vehicles in India, but that has been rejected.

There are many players right now, who are trying the jump on the EV wagon, for obvious reasons of course. Especially, after the Government of India introduced its tax reforms for EV manufacturers, everyone wants a slice of that pie. Among them was, mobile Moghul OnePlus, who had applied for a trademark under the name oneplus Life that would develop and manufacture driverless cars, self-balancing scooters, self-balancing boards, self-balancing unicycles, and the other likes of it. However, their trademark has been rejected, the reasons are not known as of yet.

OnePlus had applied for the trademark on 30th March 2021. Under this trademark, OnePlus would have built remote-controlled cars, trolleys, automobile tires, civilian drones, boats, safety seats for children, aside from proper EVs. Other manufacturers who have been rejected include Oppo and Vivo, who have been rejected as well.

Vivos trademark was for products that include electric vehicles, cars, motorcycles, mopeds, and self-balancing vehicles. It also included electric unicycles, remote control vehicles, water vehicles, photography drones, and aerial drones.

On the other hand, Oppo had also applied for a trademark and their products include - electric vehicles, reversing alarms for vehicles, automobiles, and motorcycles as a whole. Besides, they had also applied for products that includes anti-theft devices, pumps for bicycles, trolleys, pushchairs, repair outfits for inner tubes, aircraft, boats, and safety seats for children and vehicles.

However, realme TechLife and TL Device got registered when they had applied for the same trademark a month later in April 2021. They will manufacture electric vehicles that will be used for locomotion on land, air, water, and rail. They will also develop anti-theft devices for automobiles. Aside from that, theyll have self-balancing scooters, self-balancing boards, electric cycles, electric wheelchairs, Pushchairs, and Child Safety seats for vehicles.

With rising fuel prices, EVs are on the rise, and with the climate in danger - they are definitely the answer to a good sustainable future. So, which EV manufacturers are looking forward to in India.
