The Bangalore-based electric scooter maker has launched the Simple One with a driving range of up to 300 Km on a single full charge. With this claimed driving range, Simple One has surpassed its rivals with a large margin leaving the gap to be fulfilled.
Simple One Specifications & Features
Launched on Independence Day back in the year 2021 at a price tag of Rs 1,09,000 (ex-showroom), Simple One made a hoot in the market because of its claimed driving range. With only a single battery option, the e-scooter made 4.8kWh, 72 Nm of peak torque, and 96 percent of efficiency from the electric motor led to a claimed driving range of 236 Kms. The e-scooter provided a real world driving range of up to 203 km in ideal driving conditions.
With none of the rivals like the Ather 450X and Bajaj Chetak offering such claimed driving range as much as that of the Simple One; the company has introduced even a bigger battery pack options which claims a driving range of up to a whopping 300 km in the economy mode on a full charge.
This new battery pack option has been introduced at a price tag of Rs 1,44,999 (ex-showroom). What the new option provides is a powerful 6.4kWh of peak power which helps the e-scooter to achieve a claimed driving range of 300 km. Although, this is only the claimed range that is tested in ideal conditions; we expect a small reduction in the real-world driving range. Nonetheless, even the real-world driving range would be something that most electric vehicle buyers wish for.
Simple one claims that the new battery pack helps the scooter to achieve a top speed of 105 kmph in ideal conditions. 0-40 kmph mark is also achieved under 3 seconds which is highly commendable for a scooter with 110 kg of weight.
Apart from the battery pack, Simple One features an infotainment screen that hosts a lot of features to aid the rider such as Google Maps, trip meter, Bluetooth connectivity, etc. With an all-LED headlight and LED taillight, Simple One also features a big 30-Lt of boot space. The new battery pack option can also be removed and placed under the boot.
Simple One also features the combi-brake system like the Ather 450X and Bajaj Chetak electric scooters. A 200 mm front petal disc brake and 180 mm rear petal disc brake combined with telescopic front suspension and a single mono-shock at the rear help achieve the Simple One a great ride and handling combination.
