Many believe that electric vehicles will become the future of mobility around the world in the coming times. While the charging infrastructure is still fundamental in India, numerous other countries have highly developed charging networks to support electric vehicles. In China for example, the popularity of electric cars is growing, and a large portion of motorists have moved to the cleaner and less-polluting EVs. Here is an EV charging station in China, which is the world's largest such station.
The video here shows the charging station in Shenzen. The expansive charging station can successfully charge around 650 EVs simultaneously. The video shows that there are different kinds of chargers and plugs that support almost every type of electric cars in the world.

To start with, the massive Shenzen electric charging station has segregated charging points. Everyone, from a taxi driver to private car owners, can get their vehicles here to refill the battery. However, most of the users in this station are taxi drivers who use BYD brand's electric taxis.
To support different EVs, there are 20 KW, 30 KW and 50 KW charging points at the station. There is no human interaction or intervention for charging cars. All the electric charging stations have specialized QR codes that smartphones can scan. Payment too is made via the phone app.
On average, a vehicle coming to the Shenzen charging facility spends an hour to for the charge up. The facility has elaborate arrangements like electric massagers, TVs, games and many other activities that can keep the drivers and the car owners engaged during the charging duration. As per the taxi drivers, they spend an hour to charge the vehicle, which gives them about 10 hours of on-road service. They also claim that using electric cars is much cheaper and affordable when compared to petrol and diesel cars. Using an electric vehicle is at least four times less expensive than a diesel or gasoline vehicle claim the electric taxi drivers in the facility.
Well, in India, such facilities will take a lot of time to develop. In 2018, Ola started a similar charging facility for the cab owners in Nagpur as a pilot project. However, it failed to attract motorists and electric car users.
