1. Styling

The new Honda Amaze has evolved to a more sophisticated exterior that reminds you of other Honda cars at first sight. The front now gets double-barrel LED headlamps and a chunky grill that complements the overall styling. However, it is the rear profile that relates it directly to its bigger sibling, the City, especially with the protruding tail lamps reminiscent of the Honda City. Although styling is a subjective topic, the general sentiment, including myself,

2. First-In-Segment ADAS; Also The Most Affordable Car To Offer This!

Another one of the major feathers in the cap of the Amaze is the Honda Sensing ADAS suite of assistive features. While it is the first in the segment of compact sedans, it is now also the most affordable car in the country to offer this feature. The newly launched Dzire could have offered this one considering the new shift in the mass market segment, it managed to skip this one and the Amaze took the lead.

3. Interiors And Features

The interior cabin will remind you of the Honda Elevate and even though the infotainment touchscreen is a smaller 8-inch unit, the overall dashboard layout and the styling have a lot of similarities. Coming to the feature set, the new Amaze is equipped with a range of features, including LED projector headlamps, fog lamps, automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, push-button start/stop, rear AC vents, and connected car features. Safety features include six airbags as standard, a lane watch camera, hill start assist, traction control, ESC, and Honda Sensing ADAS. While the Amaze lacks a sunroof, it offers a comprehensive feature set.

4. Powertrain Details

The updated Honda Amaze retains its 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, offering the choice between a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic with paddle shifters. This engine generates 90hp and 110Nm of torque, making it a bit more powerful than the Maruti Dzire. As for the mileage, Honda has stated that the manual version delivers a fuel efficiency of 18.65 kmpl, while the CVT automatic variant achieves 19.46 kmpl.

5. Price And Variants

The pricing of the new Honda Amaze starts at Rs. 8.00 lakhs for the V MT variant and goes all the way up to Rs. 10.90 lakhs for the top-spec ZX CVT variant. As for its rivals, the most updated rivals it goes against are the newly launched next-gen Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor.

Verdict

The latest Honda Amaze is a beautiful evolution of the already sophisticated sedan, which now gets even better than before. The exterior design, cabin layout and the feature list will be more than enough to appeal buyers within the segment, and wheN you throw in the fact that it is also the most affordable car with ADAS, it could attract another segment that would fancy having those autonomous assitive features, maybe for the practicality, or for just it's flaunt factor within the cirlce.
