Honda Livo Detailed Review

Looks and Design 7

The overall looks and design of the Honda Livo are attractive. The Honda Livo is designed to cater the young buyers who are looking for an efficient and powerful city commuter bike. Talking about its look, it is a stylish bike that will give you a cool look while riding. It comes with the Halogen bulb headlamp which gives good output and efficient lighting. It is affordable as well and one can rely on it. Also, the halogen bulb headlamp is easy to use. Along with these, it has multiple wet clutches which has a compact design and thus occupies very little space. It also generates more torque and provides better acceleration. They are reliable and suits heavy vehicles. It also has colour coded alloy wheels. Alloy wheels are lighter as compared to the spoked wheels and thus exerts less load on the engine. Being lighter, they require less energy to make them move and hence increase the performance of the engine. They also help in better braking and help in maintaining stability at higher speeds. They are structurally more rigid than the spoked ones and have a better look too. Hence, as described by the company, it has a stylish look.

Summary

It is a commuter bike with a strong appearance and fresh design. Its finish is also nice and has a big seat along with a dazzling look. The only problem is that it does not have an LED headlamp.

Dimensions 8

The overall dimensions of the Honda Livo are sleek and nimble. The sleek dimensions help the rider to navigate the Honda Livo easily through the tight traffic spaces. Starting with the length of the bike which is 2020 mm. Along with this, its ground clearance is around 163mm. When it comes to height, it is 1116 mm and the width varies with two variants i.e, for the drum variant the width is 742 mm and for the disc one, the width is 751 mm. The kerb weight of the bike is also different between the two models. For drum type, the kerb weight is 113kg and for the disc, the weight is 751 mm. The seat height is 790 mm.

Summary

The dimensions of the bike are good and satisfactory which can give a good experience to the rider.

Engine and Performance 9

The engine and performance of the Honda Livo are very well matched for city riding conditions. The 110cc engine has been designed in a way to provide good low-end torque along with beefy mid-range. The engine and gearbox combination is very relaxed and fuel economical.

It has a 110cc engine along with an FI fuel system in which the fuel injection system is limited. It creates more power and has good fuel efficiency. It increases the throttle response and provides a better life to the engine. It is also eco-friendly.  It has a max power of 8. 79 Ps @7500 rpm and a max torque of 19.30 Nm @5500 rpm making it a powerful commuter bike. This bike consists of a 4-stroke engine which gives higher efficiency and is less polluting also. Other than this, 4-stroke engines have a good lubrication system and thus runs very cleanly and provide high rpm at low power as well.

It has an air-cooled type engine which has a simple design and weighs less. It needs less care and maintenance. Also, the main advantage is that it works in extreme conditions where there is even a scarcity of water because it does not have cylinder jackets or radiator water tubes. This is the same reason for no risk of damage from frost. This bike is based on the BSVI engine i.e, it is eco-friendly because the ejection of harmful pollutants is reduced. This type of engine has better performance and a superior level of manufacturing.

Summary

It has a refined engine which is eco friendly and this is one of the most important things required nowadays. Also, the fuel efficiency is good. The most important part is that the engine is reliable but the price is somewhat higher than expected.

Safety and Comfort 8

The Honda Livo comes equipped with decent safety features. The introduction of features such as the ABS and disc brakes has made the Livo a safe commuter bike in the segment. For safety purposes, it comes with two variants. The one variant with 240mm Disc brakes in front and 130mm drum brakes in the rear while the second variant consists of 130mm drum brakes in both rear and front. Disc brakes have better braking power in less effort due to which less heat is required to break the torque. They have easy maintenance and cools down faster. Also, they are safer in harsh conditions. Drum brakes are of simple design and longer life. Also, their maintenance costs are low and come in an affordable range.

The tyre size of the front is 80/100 - 18M/C 47P and that of the rear is 80/100 - 18M/C 54P. This bike's both front and rear tyres are tubeless. Now, let's have a look at the comfort level of the bike. Its contoured seats are made from good material which provides comfort to both rider and the pillion. Not only this, it has telescopic front suspension for better ride quality and stability at higher speeds. Also, it is easy to repair and offers a comfortable ride. Along with this, it has a hydraulic rear suspension which provides a firm ride and is very responsive. It is quicker than other suspensions.

Summary

It has an optional disc brake variant. And the suspension is also good for a safe ride. It gives an upright riding posture. It provides stiffness but not much comfort.
