Kia Motors is a South Korean Car Manufacturer that recently entered the Indian market. Kia made its India debut with the Seltos SUV in August 2019 and it just set the sales chart on fire. The Seltos arrived with a bang and it shattered all the previous records of the Indian Automotive History. It went on to become the best selling SUV of 2019. Also, within just a year of Seltos' launch, Kia has already achieved the One Lakh sales milestone in India. A few weeks ago, the variants of the Seltos were rejigged, more features were added and the price was hiked a bit. So, here we have for you the First Look Review of the new 2020 Kia Seltos.
2020 Kia Seltos: Looks and Colour Options
The Kia Seltos is undoubtedly one of the best looking SUVs of recent times. At the front, it gets Kia's signature tiger-nose grille flanked by all-LED headlights. It also gets LED turn indicators, LED foglamps and big daytime running LEDs. Moving to the side profile, one can see that it gets sporty machined-cut dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails. At the rear, it gets LED taillights with subtle chrome inserts. It also gets sporty bumpers with skid plates at the front and rear and all-around body cladding.
Talking about colour options, so the Seltos is available in eight mono-tone colours and five dual-tone shades. The mono-tone colours are Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Punchy Orange, Glacier White Pearl, Steel Silver, Clear White, Intelligence Blue and Gravity Gray. The dual-tone colour schemes are Steel Silver With Punchy Orange, Glacier White Pearl With Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl With Punchy Orange, Intense Red With Aurora Black Pearl and Punchy Orange With Clear White.

2020 Kia Seltos: Engine and Transmission
Kia Seltos is available with several engines and gearbox combinations. It gets two petrol mills and an oil-burner and all of them are BS6-compliant. The first one is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol motor that churns out 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an IVT (CVT). It also gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine that develops 115 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. It is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a torque-converter automatic transmission. Then we have a powerful 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This turbo petrol motor belts out 140 PS of power and 242 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission).
2020 Kia Seltos: Interiors and Features
The new 2020 Kia Seltos SUV is loaded with features up to the brim. The Tech Line model of the Seltos gets a dual-tone beige and black interior while the GT Line model gets an all-black cabin with sporty red inserts. Taking the centre stage of the dashboard is a big 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Kia's UVO connectivity. The Seltos gets more than 50 connected car features. Some other features include an electric sunroof, premium BOSE speakers, drive and traction control modes, air-purifier, heads-up display, ventilated seats and many more. The safety features include up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, all-wheel disc brakes, ESC, VSM, HAC, cruise control, speed alert system, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree parking camera, etc.
2020 Kia Seltos: Price, Rivals and Verdict
The new 2020 Kia seltos is sold in India in two trims and multiple variants. It is available in Tech Line (HT) trim and sporty GT Line trim. The Tech Line is available in HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX and HTX+ variants. While the GT Line is available in GTX and GTX+ variants. The price of the 1.5-litre Seltos Petrol ranges between Rs. 9.89 lakhs - Rs. 14.34 lakhs while the 1.5-litre Seltos Diesel is priced between Rs. 10.34 lakhs - Rs. 17.34 lakhs. The price of the performance-oriented 1.4-litre Turbo Petrol model ranges between Rs. 15.54 lakhs - Rs. 17.29 lakhs. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.
