10.25 Inch Infotainment and 10.25 Inch of Driver's display

The single large screen, which houses two separate displays, has always been the biggest highlight of the XUV700. It is operated via an intelligent Adrenox system, which enhances its functionality. You can customise it, operate ADAS, configure your drive settings, and use the multimedia controls. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available wirelessly.
Variants Available:
This dual HD superscreen is available from the second variant, AX5 Select, which starts at Rs 16.99 lakh and can be purchased with both petrol and diesel powertrains, with the choice of either manual or automatic gearboxes.
Competitors With Same Feature:
- Tata Safari -This flagship Tata car doesn't feature a single large screen like the XUV700 but rather two separate ones. Additionally, there are two infotainment screen options - 10.24 inches and 12.25 inches by HARMAN. The instrument cluster, however, is 10.25 inches. The first screen setup starts from the Pure Persona, priced at Rs 17.34 lakh (ex-showroom), while the larger one begins with the Accomplished variant at Rs 23.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Hyundai Alcazar - This extended version of the Creta also offers a dual 10.25-inch screen setup from its second-top Platinum variant, starting at Rs 19.59 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the infotainment screen begins with the second Prestige trim, while the instrument cluster here isn't HD - it's just a regular digital setup.
- MG Hector Plus - This SUV is equipped with a segment-first 14-inch touchscreen, available starting from the Smart Pro trim, priced at Rs 21.23 lakh (ex-showroom).
4 Drive Modes in Mahindra XUV700

The Mahindra XUV700 is a fast SUV, powered by two turbocharged engines (petrol and diesel). To enhance the driving pleasure, the automaker has provided four drive modes: Zip, Zap, Zoom, and Custom. Zip is for comfortable driving, Zap changes gears at higher RPMs, and Zoom is for best performance. In Zoom mode, the steering wheel becomes heavier, and the throttle response reaches its peak.
Finally, the Custom mode allows you to adjust the weight of the steering wheel and throttle response according to your needs. This option is available with the 6-speed automatic transmission.
Variants Available:
These drive modes are available in all diesel variants with an automatic gearbox, but not with petrol variants.
Competitors With Same Feature:
- Tata Safari - Multi-drive modes (Eco, City, and Sport) and terrain response modes (Normal, Rough, and Wet) start from the Pure+ variant, which is priced at Rs 19.04 lakh.
- Hyundai Alcazar - This midsize 6/7-seater SUV offers drive mode select and traction control modes starting from the Prestige trim, but only with automatic gearboxes (DCT/AT). It is priced from Rs 18.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
- MG Hector Plus - From the Select Pro variant, drive mode select (Eco, Normal, and Sport) starts, but only with the CVT gearbox. It is priced at Rs 20.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
Sony 12 Speakers in Mahindra XUV700

The speakers in this SUV produce some of the best sound quality among Indian cars. They give you the fake sense of being at a concert, listening to your favorite artist live. Additionally, Mahindra provides immersive 3D sound technology, which takes the music experience to the next level. There are also three other sound modes: Stage, Party, and Breezy.
Variants Available:
This premium sound system is available only with the top trim, AX7 Luxury Plus, which is priced at Rs 22.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
Competitors With Same Feature:
- Tata Safari - The 10 JBL speakers (5 speakers + 4 tweeters & subwoofer) start from the Accomplished+ variant, priced at Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Hyundai Alcazar - The Alcazar is equipped with 8 Bose speakers and starts from the Platinum trim. It starts at Rs 19.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
- MG Hector Plus - This car comes with an Infinity premium sound system, available starting from the Sharp Pro, the second-top variant.
6-Way Power Adjustable Seat

A lot of cars get power-adjustable seats, but Mahindra has done this very gracefully. See, a lot of vehicles provide this function and put the switches down below the seat, where you can't see them. So the only way of operating, is to use your hands and remember which buttons do what.
In the XUV700, all the switches are positioned on the door, above the power window switches. Additionally, when you approach the vehicle, the seats move back to provide extra legroom and then move forward once you are seated. There are also three memory settings available, and with the 2024 update, Mahindra has added memory ORVMs, which are a first in the segment.
Variants Available:
This luxury feature starts from the AX7 variant in XUV700.
Competitors With Same Feature:
- Tata Safari - From Accomplished variant - 6 way powered driver seat with memory and welcome feature and 4-way powered co-driver seat with same setting starts.
- Hyundai Alcazar - Here, Hyundai offers an 8-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seat starting from the Platinum trim.
- MG Hector Plus - From the Sharp Pro variant, the Hector Plus gets a 6 - way power-adjustable driver seat and a 4-way power-adjustable co-driver seat.
ADAS Level 2
With the help of radar and sensors, autonomous driving is possible in the Mahindra XUV700. Again, this is one of the first Indian cars to get ADAS Level 2, and this feature is responsible for a lot of sales. In the ADAS system, you get: Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, High Beam Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist. All these safety features help in controlling the car, but it is not recommended to ever take your eyes off the road and fully rely on the sensors.
Variants Available:
This advanced saftey feature starts from the AX7 variant in XUV700.
Competitors With Same Feature:
- Tata Safari - Accomplished +, the second top variant in the lineup gets the Level 2 ADAS features.
- Hyundai Alcazar - From the Platinum variant, Hyundai Smartsense (Level 2 ADAS) features begin.
- MG Hector Plus - Only the top variant, which is Savy Pro, gets this advanced safety suite, and it costs Rs 23.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
Features Missing In Mahindra XUV700:
- Locking Differentials - The XUV700 is the only SUV in its segment to offer an AWD setup, but it's only available with the top-spec AX7L, paired with a diesel automatic. The 2.2L engine generates 450 Nm of torque. However, it's not a true off-roader, as it lacks a low-range gearbox and features like a locking differential, which limits the capabilities of the AWD setup. As a result, it's more of a borderline soft-roader.
- Adjustable captain seats - With the 2024 update, Mahindra added a lot of features based on customer feedback, one of which is captain seats in the second row. However, these captain seats can only be slid forwards or backwards and can be reclined, but they don't allow for legroom expansion. This means customers miss out on a proper luxury experience.
- Auto dimming IRVM - A luxury SUV with multiple engine options, top-notch features, and excellent drive quality that goes up to Rs 30 lakh (top variant) misses out on an auto-dimming IRVM. This feature is now available in entry-level cars.
Other features that you get in the Mahindra XUV700 are:-
- 7 Airbags
- Wireless Charging
- Rear LED sequential turn
- One Touch Driver Power Window with Smart Close
- Dual Zone Climate Control
- Automatic Headlamps, and Rain sensing wipers
- Ventilated seats
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System
- R18 Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels
- Panaromic Sunroof
- Keyless entry

Verdict
These features in the Mahindra XUV700 make you feel like a VIP, especially in the drivers seat, where you have so many controls. However, even in the 2024 update, the automaker has refused to provide auto-dimming IRVMs and still includes manual IRVMs in such an expensive vehicle. Despite this, it is still one hell of a vehicle, and despite its minor flaws, it drives like a tank.
