MG Hector Plus Old Vs New: Design
The new Hector Plus gets an all-new front fascia. The premium SUV now has a new grille and upgraded bumper. Other notable upgrades include a new placement of the headlamps and DRLs which looks neat and classy. Apart from this, you get a larger air dam and a new housing for fog lamps as well. While most things remain the same on the side profile, the new Hector Plus gets a new set of alloy wheels. At the rear, there's a new bumper and tail lights and that too with a revised LED signature. All in all, the new Hector Plus looks more contemporary and modern than the outgoing model.
Interiors and Features
The new Hector Plus is a great leap forward in terms of interiors and features. The Hector Plus now gets a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Additionally, the dashboard is now sleeker and exudes a modern feel.
In comparison, the Old MG Hector Plus used to get a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a conventional instrument cluster. Also, the old Hector Plus lacked the premium upholstery on offer with the Hector Plus.

Hector Plus Old Vs New: Engine
The Hector Plus retains the same engine option that used to be on offer with the outgoing model. These include a 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit and a 2-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol generates 143 PS and 250 Nm while the diesel unit makes 170 PS and 350 Nm. Both engines on offer come mated to a 6-speed manual, but the petrol engine also gets a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) unit. The CVT automatic provides smooth gearshifts and helps in city traffic conditions.
Hector Plus Old Vs New: Safety
The new MG Hector Plus arrived with some major improvements in the safety part too. However, the older version used to offer decent safety with features like six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD and hill hold assist, the new model takes the safety game further with ADAS Level 2. The ADAS suite on offer enables advanced safety features such as lane departure, blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control. So, the Hector Plus is now a more safe car and offers some top-notch safety features of the segment.
MG Hector Plus: Price Details
Available in six broad variants, the new MG Hector Plus starts at Rs. 17.30 lakh for the base style 2.0 litre Diesel 7 seater variant and goes up to Rs. 23.13 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end Savvy Pro 1.5 litre Turbo Petrol CVT 6 seater variant. In India, this SUV competes with the likes of Mahindra XUV700 and the Tata Safari.
