Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has flagged the trial runs of the electric bus, JBM ECO-LIFE. The new bus will join Delhis fleet from February.
The Delhi Transport Corporation has been pushing for a sustainable model of transportation pretty aggressively now. As part of that change, the chief minister of Delhi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, recently flagged the trial runs of DTCs first electric bus, the JBM ECO-LIFE.
This electric bus prototype will be on a trial run basis on the 27 km long route E44, which stretches from Pragati Maidan to Indraprastha Depot, via ITO, Safdarjung, and Ashram. The IP depot will also feature a fast-charging station for seamless trial runs. The DTC also plans to build four more hybrid bus depots at Subhash Place depot, Rajghat depot, Hasanpur depot, and Bawana. These hybrid depots will be a combination of both CNG buses and electric buses.
