2020 Hero Maestro Edge 125 BS6: Overview
The Hero Maestro Edge was initially launched in India in the year 2012. Upon launch, it was a funky-looking 110cc scooter and became an instant hit. The scooter was targeted towards the youthful male audience with a tagline "It's a Boy Thing!" Fast forward to 2018, the more powerful Maestro comes into the picture. The new powerful and better-equipped Maestro Edge 125 was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. It was then launched in May 2019 and recently got a BS6 update. The new Maestro Edge 125 BS6 is the flagship scooter from Hero MotoCorp in India. It sits above the Pleasure Plus and Destini 125 in the company's India line-up.
2020 Hero Maestro Edge 125: Looks, Dimensions and Colour Options
The new Maestro Edge 125 boasts of a sporty design language. Upfront, it gets a big halogen headlamp with twin winkers, one on either side. It also gets a triangular LED daytime running light on the front apron. The scooter gets a muscular side profile and features bulky body panels. Moreover, it also gets dual-tone treatment and beige-finished panels on the inside, which further enhance its premium appeal. At the rear, it gets LED taillamps and also an external fuel lid.
Talking about dimensions, the Maestro Edge 125 measures 1843 mm in length, 718 mm in width and 1188 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1261 mm and the saddle height (seat-height) stands at 775 mm, which is very comfortable for both short as well as tall riders. The scooter weighs around 112 kilograms (disc) and 111 kilograms (drum). It has a fuel tank capacity of 5-litres and the minimum ground clearance is 155 mm. The new Maestro Edge 125 BS6 is available in eight colour variants - Prismatic Purple, Matte Brown, Matte Red, Matte Techno Blue, Matte Vernier Grey, Panther Black, Pearl Fadeless White and Prismatic Purple.

2020 Hero Maestro Edge 125 BS6: Engine, Transmission and Mileage
The new 2020 Hero Maestro Edge 125 is powered by a BS6-compliant 124.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This motor churns out 9.1 PS of power at 7000 RPM and 10.4 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. It comes mated to a CVT gearbox. The scooter now also gets XSens fuel-injection technology. It automatically adjusts the vehicle's performance depending on the riding conditions. The XSens fuel-injection technology also helps in offering better performance and in delivering good fuel-efficiency. The Maestro Edge 125 BS6 delivers a very good mileage of around 45-50 kmpl.
2020 Hero Maestro Edge 125 BS6: Tyres, Brakes and Features
The new Maestro Edge 125 gets 12-inch tyre at the front and a 10-inch unit at the rear. Both are tubeless tyres. The front tyre measures 90/90-12 while the rear one is a 90/100 section 10-inch unit. The scooter gets 130 mm drum brake at the rear while at the front, one can opt between a 130 mm drum or a 190 mm disc unit. It also gets Hero's IBS or Integrated Braking System as an additional safety aid. The other features of the scooter include a semi-analogue semi-digital instrument cluster, USB charging port and light in the boot, etc.
2020 Hero Maestro Edge 125 BS6: Price, Rivals and Verdict
The new 2020 Hero Maestro Edge 125 BS6 is available in two variants: Self-start Drum Brake Alloy Wheel - FI and Self-start Disc Brake Alloy Wheel - FI. The Drum Brake variant is priced at Rs. 69,250 while the Disc Brake variant is priced at Rs. 71,450. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi. Talking about the verdict, so if you are looking for an affordable 125cc scooter with masculine appeal, funky looks, punchy performance, good features and decent mileage, then you should definitely consider buying the new Maestro Edge 125 BS6.
