Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited are now back in action. The Indian subsidiary of this Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer will soon launch two new motorcycles in the super sports category. The company has just announced that the bookings for the new 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP are now open in India. These high-performance litre-class motorcycles will be brought to India via the CBU route as completely built-up units. The new Fireblade gets a BS6-compliant 1000cc in-line four-cylinder engine. This motor pumps out a staggering 217.5 PS of power at 14,500 RPM and 113 Nm of peak torque at 12,500 RPM. The CBR1000RR-R is equipped with Showa's new 3-level Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) which is controlled by input from wheel speed sensors and IMU. It gets Showa 43 mm Big Piston Fork (BPF) inverted telescopic forks at the front. Both the motorcycles get an Akrapovic exhaust as standard but the Fireblade SP gets a bi-directional quick-shifter too.
The new Fireblade gets Nissin four-piston brake callipers with dual 330 mm discs at the front and a Brembo unit at the rear. The Fireblade SP gets upgraded Brembo Stylema front callipers. The rear tyre of the motorcycle has also grown in size and it now measures 200/55-ZR17. The new 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP gets a ton of other features too. They get a 5-inch high-resolution TFT instrument console, aerodynamic winglets, smart key system, Throttle-By-Wire (TBW), 9-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Slip Rate Control (SRC) to moderate rapid wheel spin, and many more.
The new Fireblade comes with three default riding modes too. They are Power (P), Engine Brake (EB) and Wheelie Control (W).
