The Japanese carmaker's premium hatchback has been on sale in India for quite some time now and thus in the process of making it cleaner and healthier for the environment, Honda has decided to spruce up its cosmetic bits too. Recently, just before the announcement of the nationwide lockdown the test mule of the BS6-compliant Honda Jazz was spotted in camouflage on the roads of the National Capital Region.
The 2020 Honda Jazz BS6 Facelift will feature some subtle cosmetic updates. The overall body silhouette of the car will remain the same and it will continue to get the identical grille layout with chrome inserts. However, the updated model is expected to sport re-profiled bumpers, LED headlamps and tail-lamps, some extra bit of chrome, and new machine-cut alloys wheels on the higher trims.
The facelifted model will receive some cosmetic changes inside the cabin as well. It will receive an updated 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Navigation and Honda's Mirror Link connectivity. The premium hatchback might also receive new upholstery for the seats.
The biggest update of the 2020 Honda Jazz Facelift will be its mechanicals as it will now get BS6-compliant version of its existing petrol and diesel engine options. The car will be powered by a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated i-VTEC petrol motor that churns out 90 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. It also gets a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that belts out 100 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. The former comes mated to a 5-speed manual as well as a CVT while the latter is paired only with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The 2020 Honda Jazz BS6 Facelift will be launched in India around May this year once the lockdown gets over. The current BS4 Jazz is priced between Rs. 7.45 lakhs- Rs. 9.51 lakhs, Ex-showroom and we expect the facelifted BS6 version to charge a slight premium over the current model. It will rival against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, and Hyundai i20.
