A few days back, we reported that Kawasaki India has started accepting bookings for the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Z650 BS6. While the Ninja 650 BS6 was launched shortly after, the Z650 BS6 will also be launched really soon. The Japanese bike manufacturer has now announced that the new 2020 Kawasaki Z900 BS6 and Ninja 1000 BS6 will be launched soon in the country. The bookings for these new motorcycles have already commenced and it is just a matter of a few days or weeks that Kawasaki will announce their official prices.

For 2020, along with the BS6 update, Kawasaki will substantially upgrade these litre-class motorcycles by equipping them with a host of electronic safety aids and a bunch of new features like the addition of a new LED headlamp, a full-colour TFT dashboard and more. Starting with the naked green beast, Z900. The 2020 Kawasaki Z900 BS6 will retain its aggressive and sharp body design but will now feature a host of new electronics like four riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain and Manual), a three-level traction control system, two power modes, ABS and more.
The motorcycle will be available in two colour variants Metallic Graphite Grey/ Metallic Spark Black and Metallic Spark Black/ Metallic Flat Spark Black and will be shod in new Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres that will contribute to its superb handling character. Powering this naked beast will be a BS6-compliant 948cc, in-line four, liquid-cooled engine that churns out a colossal 125 PS of power at 9500 RPM and 98.6 Nm of peak torque at 7700 RPM. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and is assisted by a slipper clutch.
Talking about the litre-class Ninja that is well-known for its touring capabilities, it will also undergo major changes. The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 BS6 will also get the new 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster along with a host of electronic updates. It will feature two power modes, a three-level traction control, dual-channel ABS along with IMU-based cornering ABS, new electronic cruise control, a bi-directional quickshifter and more.
The 2020 Ninja 1000 will be powered by a BS6-compliant 1043cc, in-line four, liquid-cooled engine that churns out a whopping 142 PS of power at 10,000 RPM and 111 Nm of peak torque at 7300 RPM. It also comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and gets an assist and slipper clutch. Also, both these motorcycles will get a 4.3-inch TFT display for instrumentation along with RIDEOLOGY THE APP, through which a number of instrumentation functions can be accessed, contributing to an enhanced motorcycling experience.
The bookings for the new 2020 Kawasaki Z900 BS6 and Ninja 1000 BS6 are now open and can book it for themselves by paying a token amount of Rs. 50,000. The prices of the current BS4-compliant Kawasaki Z900 and Ninja 1000 starts at Rs. 7.99 lakhs and Rs. 10.29 lakhs, Ex-showroom respectively and we expect around 5-7% increment in the price for the BS6 models.
