Maruti Suzuki Ignis is a cute-looking funky micro SUV. The Ignis was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and the Indo-Japanese car manufacturer launched it in early 2017. Initially, it was offered with both petrol as well as diesel engine options. But, as you all know Maruti Suzuki is betting on no diesel policy in the BS6 era and so now it gets a gasoline option only. Maruti Suzuki showcased the new Ignis Facelift at the 2020 Auto Expo. Recently, the new facelifted Ignis BS6 was launched in India. So, today we have for you the First Look Review of this new 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis BS6.
2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis: Looks and Colour Options
As already mentioned before, the Maruti Ignis is a cute-looking car but with a rugged stance. It is more of a mini-crossover than an SUV but it has a really good aesthetic appeal. The new facelifted model gets a revised front fascia. It now gets a four-slate grille with Suzuki's logo in between and subtle chrome inserts. The grille is flanked by projector headlights and it also gets big U-shaped LED DRLs. The new facelifted Ignis sports revised front and rear bumpers with skid plates and all-around body cladding.
The side profile of the car houses 14-inch blacked-out multi-spoke alloy wheels and it gets roof rails too. At the rear, it now gets an integrated roof-mounted body spoiler and some minor revisions. The new Ignis is offered in nine different colour shades. Out of these nine, seven are mono-tone colours while three are dual-tone shades. The mono-tone options are Nexa Blue, Lucent Orange, Silky Silver, Turquoise Blue, Glistening Grey and Pearl Arctic White. The dual-tone shades are Nexa Blue with Black Roof, Lucent Orange with Black Roof and Nexa Blue with Silver Roof.

2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis: Engine and Transmission
The new 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis gets a sole petrol engine. It is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine. This petrol motor churns out 83 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of torque at 4200 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT (AGS or Auto Gear Shift in Maruti's words). Maruti Suzuki offers you the convenience of having an automatic gearbox in all the variants except the base Sigma model. Also, the new Ignis BS6 has an ARAI-claimed mileage of 20.89 kmpl.
2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis: Interiors and Features
The Ignis is a compact crossover for the cool youngsters and small Indian families. It gets decent space inside the cabin and is loaded with features. Taking the centre stage of Ignis' dashboard is Suzuki's latest SmartPlay Studio Infotainment System. It is a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and it also supports navigation system. Some other features of the Ignis include an engine start/stop button, steering-mounted audio & calling controls, voice command system and many more. The safety features of the Ignis include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors with camera, etc.

2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis: Price, Rivals and Verdict
The new 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis Facelift BS6 is sold in four variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha with prices ranging between Rs. 4.89 lakhs - Rs. 7.19 lakhs. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi. Maruti Suzuki is also offering two customisation packages for the Ignis - Scorcher and Acropolis.
