After a long wait due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic, Maruti Suzuki has today finally launched the new S-Cross Petrol in India. As we all know, Maruti Suzuki is betting on no diesel policy in the BS6 era. Now, we have only gasoline-powered BS6 vehicles in Maruti's portfolio. The company has already updated all its cars to meet the new stringent BS6 emission norms. The new S-Cross Petrol was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and now it has been finally launched in the country. The price of the new 2020 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross BS6 Petrol starts at Rs. 8.39 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
Before we begin with the other details of the car, let us have a look at the variant-wise price of the new 2020 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross BS6 Petrol:

The S-Cross is Maruti's Flagship car in the Indian market. It is sold via the company's premium NEXA dealerships. The S-Cross was first launched in the year 2015. Back then, it was offered with 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines. Two years later, it got a facelift in 2017 and the facelifted model was powered by the 1.3-litre diesel only. Now in 2020, the car has got the BS6 treatment and for the first time, it is now powered by a petrol engine. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross BS6 gets a new powerplant and some minor feature upgrades. It now gets Suzuki's latest SmartPlay Studio Infotainment System. Some other features include LED projector headlamps with daytime running LEDs, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, all-wheel disc brakes, etc.

Talking about the details of the new powertrain, so the S-Cross now gets a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This is the same gasoline mill that was recently introduced in the Vitara Brezza too. It also does its duty in a slew of other Maruti cars which include the Ciaz, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza and the XL6. This new BS6-compliant 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, K15B petrol motor churns out 105 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 138 Nm of torque at 4400 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The automatic transmission is offered in all the variants except the base model. It has an ARAI-claimed fuel-efficiency of 18.55 kmpl. It also gets Maruti Suzuki's new advanced Smart Hybrid technology.
As already mentioned before, the new Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Petrol is sold in four variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The prices start at Rs. 8.39 lakhs and go up to Rs. 12.39 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. It is available in five different colour shades: Premium Silver, Nexa Blue, Granite Grey, Pearl Arctic White and Caffeine Brown. The Bookings for the new Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Petrol are already open. You can book it online or by visiting your nearest NEXA dealership. The booking amount for the car is pegged at 11,000 rupees.
