Morris Garages is all set to launch its third product in India, the new Hector Plus. A few weeks ago, MG Motors commenced the production of this six-seater SUV at its Halol plant in Gujarat. Now, the bookings for the new 2020 MG Hector Plus are officially open in India. The prospective customers can book the MG Hector Plus by visiting the company's official website. One can book this premium six-seater SUV for themselves by paying a token amount of Rs. 50,000. Moreover, the customers can also book the SUV by visiting their nearest MG dealership. MG has also revealed its brochure and here are all the details about it.
The new MG Hector Plus is around 40 mm longer compared to the regular five-seater Hector SUV. It measures 4695 mm in length, 1760 mm in width and 1835 mm in height. It sits on a 2750 mm long wheelbase and the ground clearance stands at 192 mm. The Hector Plus gets revised exteriors, updated interior and looks much better than its five-seater sibling. Talking about the main design changes, so upfront it gets a new blacked-out grille with all-LED headlamps. It also gets integrated LED DRLs which double up as floating indicators. The front bumper gets some changes and it gets new housing for the LED foglamps.
Coming to its side profile, this is where you can feel its sheer dimensions. The Hector is a very long SUV and the Hector Plus is even longer. The side profile houses the 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and it also gets roof-rails. The side profile of the Hector Plus is completely new as it gets an updated design for the tailgate as well as the bumpers. It gets all-LED taillamps with subtle chrome inserts, an integrated spoiler and also a sharkfin antenna. It also gets body cladding all-around and aluminium skid plates both at the front as well as at the rear to further enhance its appeal.
Now, coming to the interiors, so step inside the cabin and you can feel the difference. The Hector Plus gets brown-coloured upholstery whereas the Hector gets an all-black cabin. It now seems much more premium than before. Moreover, it is a six-seater SUV and gets two captain seats in the middle-row. The dashboard design remains the same as before but now it gets brown-coloured panels. Taking the centre stage of the dashboard is a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and gets MG's i-Smart 2.0 connected car tech with 55 connected car features. It also gets smart swipe auto tailgate, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree parking camera, etc and the feature list goes on.

Talking about the powertrain options, so the Hector Plus gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. This petrol engine is also available with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and one so can choose between petrol and the petrol hybrid model as per their preference. The non-hybrid petrol will come mated to a 6-speed DCT while the hybrid model will be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It also gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine that develops 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. All the engines are BS6-compliant.
The MG Hector Plus will be available only as a six-seater (as of now) and in three variants: Sharp, Smart and Super. The non-hybrid petrol will be offered in Sharp and Smart variant, hybrid petrol will be offered in Sharp variant. However, the diesel engine gets an edge as it will be available in all three variants. The Hector Plus will be proferred in six different colours: Glaze Red, Starry Black, Candy White, Starry Sky Blue, Burgundy Red and Aurora Silver. The bookings for the 2020 MG Hector Plus are now open in India and it will be launched in the third week of July. It is expected to be priced between Rs. 14 lakhs - Rs. 20 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
