Kawasaki Motorcycles is the most sought-after superbike brand in India. In fact, they claim themselves to be the number one premium motorcycle manufacturer in the country. And, we do agree that as out on the streets we can see a lot of Kawasaki superbikes spreading the love of green everywhere. Kawasaki sells the most number of premium bikes in India but until now, their entire portfolio was BS4 compliant. However, things are going to change now as the bikemaker has started accepting bookings for the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 BS6 and Z650 BS6 and these motorcycles will be launched really soon in India.

For 2020, along with the BS6 update, Kawasaki has also given these motorcycles a substantial upgrade in terms of equipment like the addition of a new LED headlamp, a full-colour TFT dashboard and more. Starting with the new add-ons one-by-one, the Z650 BS6 now gets a new more aggressive and sharper-looking headlamp cowl which is inspired by its elder sibling Z900. The motorcycle is now available in only one colour variant - Metallic Spark Black and will be shod in new Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres that will contribute to its superb handling character.
The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 BS6 has also got similar updates. It now looks more aggressive than before, thanks to the new twin LED headlights, new design cues with sharper-looking fairing and a revised tail-section. It now also gets an improved wind-shield and will be shod in new Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres that will contribute to its brilliant ride and handling. Also, its sleek and sporty design inspires confidence in riders. The 2020 Ninja 650 BS6 is available in two colour variants - Lime Green Ebony and Pearl Flat Stardust White.
The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 BS6 and Z650 BS6 also get new 4.3-inch TFT display for instrumentation which is now loaded with more information than before and also gets Bluetooth connectivity to wirelessly connect your phone. The system can also be connected via 'RIDEOLOGY THE APP', through which a number of instrumentation functions can be accessed, contributing to an enhanced motorcycling experience.
Powering this Kawasaki 650s is a BS6-compliant 649cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin motor that churns out 68 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 64 Nm of torque at 6700 RPM. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox that is assisted by a slipper clutch. The suspension duties are handled by 41mm telescopic front forks and an adjustable pre-load mono-shock absorber at the rear. Both the motorcycles get 300mm petal disc at the front and 220mm petal disc at the rear along with an additional safety aid of dual-channel ABS.
The bookings for the BS6-compliant Ninja 650 and Z650 are now open and the bikes will be launched as soon as the lockdown is uplifted. Moreover, it was in January 2020 itself that Kawasaki has announced the prices for these motorcycles. The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 BS6 will be priced between Rs. 6.65 lakhs - Rs. 6.79 lakhs and the Kawasaki Z650 BS6 will be priced between Rs. 6.25 lakhs - Rs. 6.50 lakhs, all prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.
