Renault unveiled and launched the second generation of the Captur last year but that was only for the European markets and that car is based on Clio's platform. What we have here is the 2020 Renault Captur facelift and it also has got some changes to talk about. But will we get the same Russia-spec facelift? We shall find out!

Talking about the visual changes, then you won't notice any big changes over the pre-facelift model. It still sports its crossover design and looks snazzy. The front bumper has been changed a little and the grille now gets different chrome pattern. The alloy wheels are new and measure 17-inch in size. The rear is exactly the same as before sporting LED taillights and faux skid plate.
Moving to the interiors, they have changed, especially when you compare them with the India-spec Captur. The interior now gets softer materials and plastics which were missing on the India-spec model. The centre of the dashboard is taken by an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Down below the touchscreen are the AC controls and the lower part of the dashboard gets engine start/stop button and other controls.
The 2020 Renault Captur Facelift is loaded with features. The features like heated seats, heated steering wheel, 360-degree parking camera, mood lighting, semi-digital instrument cluster, Bose audio system, blind-spot monitoring and a host of other features are on offer. Renault continues to offer All Wheel Drive (AWD) but it won't be available with the India-spec Captur. Coming to the engine options, the Russia-spec Captur is available with a 1.6-litre petrol engine and 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine.
The 1.3-litre turbo is the same engine we get in the updated Nissan Kicks, it produces 154 BHP and it comes mated to a 6-speed manual and CVT box. The facelifted Captur sits on the updated MO+ platform which is an updated version of the MO platform we get in the Duster and Kicks. The India-spec Captur facelift will continue to come with the MO platform as it is also shared with Kicks and Duster.

The India-spec Captur was available with 1.5-litre K9K diesel and 1.5-litre petrol engine. The diesel engine has been discontinued after the BS6 norms kicked in. The Captur facelift in India will carry the powertrains from the Kicks, which are the 1.5 petrol and 1.3-litre turbo petrol paired with manual and CVT boxes. The Captur will compete with cars like Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. We expect Renault to launch the Captur facelift later this year or early 2021.
