Renault Kwid is one of the most successful cars from the house of the French carmaker in the Indian market. It was first launched in the year 2015 and since then, it has been a preferred affordable small car for the Indian families. Renault India asserts that the Kwid has become its best selling car in recent years. The company has just announced that the Renault Kwid has achieved a 3.5 lakh sales milestone in the country. So, to commemorate this achievement, the car manufacturer has launched new variants of the Kwid. The 2020 Renault Kwid RXL 1.0 MT and AMT has been launched in India with prices starting at Rs. 4.16 lakhs.
Renault Kwid is offered with two different BS6-compliant petrol engines: an 800cc motor and a powerful 1.0-litre engine. The 0.8-litre engine of the Kwid churns out 54 PS of power at 5678 RPM and 72 Nm of torque at 4386 RPM. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The 1.0-litre engine, on the other hand, develops 68 PS of power at 5500 RPM and 91 Nm of torque at 4250 RPM. It is coupled to a 5-speed manual and gets an AMT gearbox too. It has an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 22.0 kmpl. The new Kwid RXL has been launched with this powerful 1.0-litre petrol motor.
The RXL variant of the Kwid is fairly loaded with features and boasts of an attractive design language. It gets internally adjustable ORVMs, front power windows, electric power steering, air conditioner, remote keyless entry with central locking, etc. The safety features on this variant of the Kwid include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, high-speed alert system, seat belt reminders, etc. The Kwid is offered with six different colour options. They are Zanskar Blue, Fiery Red, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, Outback Bronze, and Electric Blue.

The 2020 Renault Kwid RXL 1.0 MT is priced at Rs. 4.16 lakhs while the Kwid RXL 1.0 AMT is priced at Rs. 4.48 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. The Kwid RXL is now the most affordable automatic car on sale in India. The Kwid now comes in a total of six variants: Standard, RXE, RXL, RXT, RXT (O) and Climber with prices ranging between Rs. 2.94 lakhs - Rs. 5.07 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. Renault also offers an optional 5 years/1,00,000 kilometres warranty on the Kwid from the date of delivery. The Renault Kwid rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Datsun Redi-GO, etc.
