Revolt Intellicorp is an Indian start-up founded by Micromax Informatics Co-founder Mr Rahul Sharma. Revolt Motors made its debut in the year 2019 with the first electric motorcycles of India. The company launched the Revolt RV 400 and the Revolt RV 300 at a grand launch event in the National Capital Territory of India. The Revolt Electric Motorcycles gained instant popularity in India and everyone wanted to experience the motorcycle at least once in person. However, that isn't possible as the electric motorcycle is currently sold in only limited metro cities of the country. That said, let's now dive in to have a closer look at this electric motorcycle. So, here we have for you the First Look Review of the new 2020 Revolt RV 400 Electric Bike.
2020 Revolt RV 400: Overview
So, as we mentioned before, the Revolt RV 400 was launched in India in 2019. The electric motorcycle was unveiled in June 2019 and then was launched in August that year. The Revolt RV 400 is the flagship electric motorcycle from the company as it also sells a down-graded version of the RV 400, called the Revolt RV 300. This electric motorcycle seems very promising for intra-city commutes and it boasts of good features and a decent range too.
2020 Revolt RV 400: Looks, Dimensions and Colour Options
The new 2020 Revolt RV 400 looks really good. It doesn't get an eccentric design language and that works in its favour. The electric motorcycle looks like a conventional petrol-powered naked streetfighter and gets some premium bits. Upfront, it gets an all-LED headlamp with a projector set-up and it also gets a unique hexagon-shaped split daytime running LEDs. At the rear, it gets a LED taillamp with an ivory grabrail. The motorcycle gets a hefty front-end with a bulbous fuel tank (as the batteries are stored inside it). It also gets funky colour shades and sporty dual-tone body graphics which further enhance its appeal.
Talking about dimensions, the length, breadth and height of the electric motorcycle haven't been revealed yet. However, the motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1350 mm, the saddle height (seat-height) stands at 804 mm and it weighs just 108 kilograms, which is very well-balanced considering it is an electric motorcycle. The Revolt RV 400 has a maximum payload capacity of 2 persons / 150 kilograms and it has a massive ground clearance of 215 mm. The electric motorcycle is available in two colour variants Rebel Red and Cosmic Black.
2020 Revolt RV 400: Electric Motor, Battery and Range
The 2020 Revolt RV 400 gets a 3kW electric motor that has a peak power output of 3000 watts (around 4 PS). The torque figure of the E-Bike hasn't been revealed but since it is an electric motorcycle, the torque delivery will be very brisk right from the word go! The RV 400 gets three different Riding Modes - Eco, City and Sport. The Top speed of the electric motorcycle varies according to the mode selected. In Eco mode, it attains a top speed of 45 kmph, in Normal mode, it has a top speed of 65 kmph and in the Sport mode, it's quite fast and can attain a maximum speed of 80 kmph.
The RV 400 electric bike comes coupled to a 72-volt 3.24KWh lithium-ion battery. Like the top speed, the range of the electric motorcycle also varies according to the modes. In Eco mode, it delivers a maximum riding range of 150 kilometres on a single charge, in Normal mode, it delivers 100 kilometres range while in the Sport mode, the range drops to just 80 kilometres on a full charge. The Revolt RV 400 has an ARAI-certified range of 156 kilometres on a single charge.
Revolt claims that once the battery is drained, it can be fully juiced up in just 4.5 hours via a regular charger. Also, the RV 400 can be charged from 0-75 per cent in just 3 hours via the conventional 15A power socket. Moreover, since the batteries are detachable, it can be charged in home/workplace too. Additionally, Revolt has also introduced a dedicated network of battery swap locations where recharged batteries can be swapped out at a nominal cost. Also, the fully-charged batteries can be ordered online via the Revolt app that can be delivered at any location within the customer's preferred time slot.

2020 Revolt RV 400 Electric Bike First Look Review: Tyres, Brakes and Features
The new Revolt RV 400 gets premium hardware. It runs on 17-inch tubeless tyres. The front tyre measures 90/80-17 while the rear one is a 120/80 17-inch unit. The braking duties are performed by 240 mm disc brakes at both the ends. It also gets Combined-Braking System (CBS) and Regenerative Braking System (RBS) as an additional safety aid. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are performed by upside-down front (USD) forks and it gets an adjustable mono-shock absorber at the rear. Before talking about other features, let me tell you about its one unique feature. The RV 400 is an electric motorcycle which means no exhaust sound. But, it gets speakers and a choice of four artificial sound as exhaust note. These are Revolt, Rebel, Roar and Rage and it sounds really cool.
The Revolt RV 400 is India's first Artificial Intelligence (AI-Enabled) electric motorcycle. It gets an all-digital instrument cluster loaded with a ton of information. The E-Bike gets Smartphone connectivity and can be controlled via My Revolt App that has features such as bike locator, door-step battery delivery, mobile swap stations, anti-theft, etc. It also gets a 4G LTE SIM-enabled IoT device and will also get OTA updates in the future. The My Revolt App also get a lot of other features which include geofencing, documents storage, ECU updates, payment gateway integration, bike statistics, range info, user trip details, etc.
2020 Revolt RV 400: Price, Warranty, Availability and Verdict
The Revolt RV 400 is offered with MRP or My Revolt Plan. The RV 400 gets two monthly plans: one that costs Rs. 3,499/month while the top-spec plan costs Rs. 3,999/month. These monthly charges have to be paid for 37 months and it will even cover insurance, registration and service costs. Moreover, the premium variant of the Revolt RV 400 will be even offered with a free set of tyres once in three years. That said, the Revolt RV 400 is currently available only in Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Chennai. Revolt is planning to soon launch the electric motorcycle in other cities too.
If we calculate the cost of the electric motorcycle according to its monthly payment plan of 37 months, the actual price of the RV 400 stands at Rs. 1.29 lakhs. The price of the Premium variant of the RV 400 translates to Rs. 1.48 lakhs. The electric motorcycle can be pre-booked via the company's official website. It can also be booked through Amazon India website by paying a token amount of Rs. 1000. Talking about the verdict, so if you want an electric two-wheeler that offers the best-in-class performance, excellent features, decent range and is affordable too, then you should definitely consider buying the Revolt RV 400. Mind you, it is the only electric motorcycle currently on sale in India.
