A few weeks back, we reported that the Upcoming Royal Enfield Motorcycle has leaked online. This all-new bike from the Madras-based home-grown two-wheeler manufacturer will be called the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball. This motorcycle has been spied multiple times testing on the Indian roads and was about to be launched in April this year. However, due to the current uncertain situation owing to the novel coronavirus, the launch has been further delayed. 1. New Design and Fresh Colours
The upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball will sport a retro-appeal with modern charm. It will feature a new round headlight with wrapped-around LED DRLs. It will also get a high-raised handlebar and forward-mounted foot-rest to make you feel that you are driving a proper cruiser motorcycle. The official colour shades haven't been revealed but the leaked images of the company's web configurator show that the Meteor 350 Fireball will get Red and Yellow colour paint options and will also get a stepped-seat with round taillamp to further enhance the look.
2. All-new Platform
It has been in news for a long time that the bikemaker is developing a new platform for its upcoming motorcycles. And, now we can confirm that the upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball will be based on the two-wheeler manufacturers new J1D platform which will be more modular and improved compared to the current platform that underpins Classic and Thunderbird series motorcycles.
3. All-new BS6-compliant Engine
The upcoming Meteor 350 will be powered by an improved version of the current 350cc engine that powers the Classic 350 BS6. It might get a BS6-compliant 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that will develop around 20.07 PS of maximum power at 5250 RPM and 28 Nm of peak torque at 4000 RPM. The engine will be coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox.
4. New Modern Features
As per new reports, this time Royal Enfield will ditch the old-school instrumentation and instead, it will get an all-new digital instrument cluster. Of course, this instrument panel will show all the basic trip-related information but Royal Enfield will be going a level-up by offering new connectivity tech including app-based smartphone integration, Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation system. The motorcycle will also be equipped with a dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) as standard for additional safety.
5. Price and Launch Date
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball will be launched in India in the coming months, most likely in the third quarter of 2020. However, the launch timeline also depends on the situation of COVID-19 in the country. Talking about its price, the upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball will be priced around Rs. 1.65 lakhs, Ex-showroom, as one of the leaked picture shows the price tag of Rs. 1,68,550 but that includes some optional accessories like a tinted front visor.
