It has been in news since a really long time that Royal Enfield is planning to launch a new 350cc motorcycle in the country. This new 350cc motorcycle will be called the Meteor 350. The Meteor 350 was about to be launched in April this year. But, thanks to the on-going coronavirus pandemic, RE has been procrastinating its launch. The RE Meteor 350 has been spied on test several times. Now, some more details about the motorcycle have leaked online hinting its imminent launch. Here, we have for you the variants, colours and feature details of the new 2020 Royal Enfield Meteor 350.
The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will replace the Thunderbird 350 series in the company's India line-up. Now, we know almost everything about this upcoming motorcycle. The Meteor 350 has been snapped on test in India multiple times. In fact, a few months ago, one of its variants was even leaked on RE's online configurator page. Now, some fresh details about the motorcycle reveal that the new Meteor 350 will be sold in India in three variants. Also, there will be seven different colour options to choose from. The variants of the motorcycle are Fireball, Stellar and Supernova.
These variants of the Meteor 350 are unique in their own way and lend this motorcycle a distinctive appeal. First of all, we have the Fireball variant. The Meteor 350 Fireball resembles the Thunderbird 350X to a certain extent but gets some new modern elements. It features blacked-out components, a mono-tone fuel tank, machined cooling fins and body-coloured wheel rim tape. This variant of the Meteor 350 will be available in two Solid Gloss colour shades - Fireball Yellow and Fireball Red.
Next, we have the Stellar variant of the Meteor 350. While the Fireball variant mostly sports blacked-out elements, the Stellar variant gets body-coloured components. The Meteor 350 Stellar features a premium Royal Enfield badging and a backrest. It also gets subtle chrome-embellished elements like a chrome exhaust, chrome handlebar, etc. The Meteor 350 Stellar will be available in three colour variants - Gloss Metallic Red, Gloss Metallic Blue and Matte Black.
Lastly, we have the Meteor 350 Supernova which gets plenty of add-ons over the Fireball and Stellar variants. The Meteor 350 Supernova will feature dual-tone colour scheme, a tall windscreen, machined-cut alloy wheels, etc. It will also get premium brown-coloured seat cover and subtle chrome inserts all-over the body. The Meteor 350 Supernova looks very premium and will be most likely the flagship variant of this motorcycle. It will be available in two dual-tone colour shades - Supernova Brown and Supernova Blue.

The Meteor 350 will be based on Royal Enfield's new J1D platform. This new platform will be more modular and improved compared to the current one that underpins the Classic series. Talking about the engine, so the Meteor 350 will be powered by a BS6-compliant 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor will develop around 20.07 PS of maximum power and 28 Nm of peak torque. It will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Meteor 350 will also get plenty of features. It will feature two screens for the instrument cluster and will get even Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, etc.

Finally, talking about the price and launch timeline, so the new Meteor 350 is expected to be launched within a month in the Indian market. It will be priced around Rs. 1.65 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
