Tata Harrier was first launched in India in January 2019 and it was unlike any other Tata car we have ever seen before. The 2019 Harrier was very good but it had some minor niggles. Tata addressed all the shortcomings of the 2019 Harrier and launched the new 2020 Tata Harrier BS6 in February this year. The 2020 Harrier gets a new BS6 powerplant, new features and also a massive panoramic sunroof. Upon its launch, the sunroof was made available only in the top-spec XZ+ trim of this SUV. However, the company has now launched the new 2020 Tata Harrier XT+ with a panoramic sunroof and its price starts at just Rs. 16.99 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
The new Tata Harrier XT+ slots above the XT variant and sits below the XZ and XZ+ trim in Harrier's variant line-up. We Indians love sunroofs, especially big fat panoramic sunroofs and so this new addition will definitely boost the sales of the new Harrier. Tata Motors claims that the massive panoramic sunroof of the Harrier is the best in its segment. Also, this panoramic sunroof gets several handy features like global close system (automatic closing of the sunroof after parking), anti-pinch feature, rain-sensing closure, etc. It also gets a rollover screen with a black coating on the glass that ensures a serene in-cabin experience when it's too sunny outside.
The new XT+ variant of the Harrier gets all the goodies of the XT trim plus the massive panoramic sunroof. Talking about some other features offered with this XT+ trim, so it gets projector headlamps, fog lamps, dual-function LED DRLs and R17 alloy wheels. On the inside, it gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity. It also gets a push-button start/stop system, 8-speaker sound system, a fully automatic temperature control system, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, etc. The safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors with rear parking camera, ESP and many more.

Powering the new Harrier XT+ is the BS6-compliant 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. This diesel motor churns out 170 PS of maximum power and a whopping 350 Nm of peak torque. This variant comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only. Commenting on this launch, Mr Vivek Srivatsa, Head Marketing, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (PVBU), Tata Motors said, In line with our New Forever philosophy of continuously updating our product range with new products and features, we are delighted to introduce the latest variant of our flagship SUV - Harrier XT+. We are confident that the introduction of the XT+ variant will further strengthen the appeal of the Tata Harrier by giving customers an option to experience a premium feature like the Panoramic Sunroof at an extremely attractive price.
Lastly, once again talking about the price, so the new 2020 Tata Harrier XT+ has been priced at Rs. 16.99 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. However, this price is introductory and will be valid for those customers who book it in the month of September 2020. On 1st October 2020, its price will be increased. Well, if we compare the price of the Harrier XT+ with other trims of the new Harrier, so the Harrier XT+ is around 59,000 rupees dearer than the XT trim and it is around 66,000 rupees and 1,91,000 rupees affordable than the XZ and XZ+ trims respectively. However, you will be surprised to know that the XZ trim still doesn't get a sunroof. So, the new Harrier XT+ trim seems great value for money option. This will definitely sell in very good numbers.
