Kia Motors is all set to introduce its second made in India SUV, Sonet and we have brought you several spy shots of the same. Now, recent spy shots give us a clearer look of the front profile and we tell you all about the upcoming 2020 Kia Sonet.
Sharing more details on the spy shots of upcoming 2020 Kia Sonet then the front profile directly takes its inspiration from the concept model. The same tiger-nose grille will come with illuminated lighting. Also, the placement of air damns gives the SUV an agile look.
The usage of body cladding all across Sonet is visible and another noticeable thing is that it is the mid-spec variant. It comes with steel wheels while the top-spec variants will receive dual-tone machine-cut alloys. The rear profile gets a similar styling as seen in the TVC with a reflector joining the taillight. This look was observed in the Honda BR-V which is now discontinued.

Also, notice the faux skid plate which makes it a sporty looking SUV. Right from mid-spec variants to top model, this addition will be observed. Like its elder sibling, we can also expect a GT line trim which comes with all-black interiors, contrast red badging at the rear, both bumpers, painted brake callipers and much more.
Feature-wise, Kia Sonet will pack in a segment-first 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. This unit gets Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Voice Command and Kia's signature UVO connect. The latter helps you control about 33+ features with your smartphone only.
Safety-features could come with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Traction Control (for 7-speed DCT), Rear parking sensors, High-speed alert system, Front seat belt reminder, Reverse camera, 360-degree parking and among other things. Kia Sonet will definitely distinguish itself from the Venue!

Mechanically, Kia Sonet will offer the same set of engines as observed in Hyundai Venue. It will offer a 1.2L naturally petrol engine, 1.0L turbo petrol unit and a 1.5L diesel engine. The transmission option includes a 5-speed manual for the NA petrol, a 6-speed manual for turbo petrol and diesel. For automatics, a 7-speed DCT and an iMT will come on board with the 1.0L turbo petrol.
Once launched, the compact SUV will rival with Ford Ecosport, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300. It all depends on the pricing from Kia Motors and if they keep it right, they might even kick Venue sales. Kia Sonet is also listed on its website now and you can check it by clicking here
