Yamaha Motor India revealed its upcoming quarter-litre offerings, the FZ 25 BS6 and the new FZS 25 early this year. The new BS6-compliant FZ 25 motorcycle series was about to be launched in April this year. However, due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic, the launch was delayed. Now, the company has finally launched the new 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 BS6 and the new FZS 25. The Price of the new 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 BS6 starts at Rs. 1.52 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. Here are some more details about it.

2020 Yamaha FZ 25 BS6 Price

First of all, talking about the powertrain, so the new FZ 25 and the FZS 25 are powered by the same mill. Both the motorcycles are powered by a BS6-compliant 249cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC, four-stroke, fuel-injected engine. This motor now delivers 20.8 PS of power at 8,000 RPM and 20.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 RPM. For reference, the power and torque figures of the BS4 Yamaha FZ 25 stood at 20.9 PS and 20 Nm, which means that the new FZ 25 BS6 is just 0.1 PS less powerful and 0.1 Nm torquier than its BS4 counterpart. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Talking about the aesthetic bits of these motorcycles, so the new FZ 25 gets subtle cosmetic upgrades. It gets a revised headlamp cluster which houses a new projector LED unit and gets the bi-functional treatment. It also features a new negative LCD display for the instrument console, an underbelly cowl and a side-stand engine cut-off switch. Additionally, the FZS 25 also gets a stylish long visor, knuckle guards and golden alloy wheels to add street presence to the motorcycle. The FZ 25 BS6 is just a kilogram heavier than the BS4 model. Now, the FZ 25 BS6 weighs 153 kilograms while the FZS 25 weighs 154 kilograms.

The new FZS 25 and the FZ 25 BS6 get telescopic front forks and a 7-step adjustable monocross suspension at the rear. The braking duties are handled by disc brakes at either end. It gets a 282 mm disc at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear. It gets dual-channel ABS as an additional safety aid. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch tubeless tyres. The front tyre measures 100/80-17 while the rear tyre is a 140/70 section 17-inch unit. It sits on a Diamond Frame and has a saddle height (seat-height) of 795 mm. The fuel tank capacity of the motorcycle is 14-litres.

Now, finally talking about the price and colour options. So, the new FZ 25 BS6 is priced at Rs. 1,52,100 while the FZS 25 BS6 is priced at Rs. 1,57,100. The new FZ 25 BS6 is around 18,000 rupees dearer than its BS4 counterpart. The 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 is offered in two colour options: Metallic Black and Racing Blue while the FZS 25 is offered in Dark Cyan, Dark Blue and Metallic White shades. The booking for the motorcycles are officially open and you can book it by paying a token amount of Rs. 10,000. The FZ 25 will be available across all Yamaha Dealerships from today while the availability of the FZS 25 will be confirmed later.
