Ford India's current Indian portfolio includes a small family hatchback, a sub-compact sedan, a crossover (CUV or a compact utility vehicle in Ford's speak), a sub-compact SUV and a full-size premium SUV. These are the Ford Figo, Aspire, Freestyle, EcoSport and the Endeavour respectively. However, in the near future, we will get to see a lot of interesting products from Ford in India. The company is developing a new mid-size SUV with the Indian UV-maker Mahindra. According to the latest media reports, Ford will also soon launch the Ranger Raptor in India. 2021 Ford Ranger Raptor BS6 - Looks and Colour Options
The new upcoming Ford Ranger Raptor is a massive lifestyle pick-up truck. The Ford Ranger Raptor is an off-road-focused lifestyle pick-up truck based on the Ford Everest or what we know as the Ford Endeavour in the Indian market. Both the Endeavour and the Ranger pick-up range share the same engine and gearbox options. At the front, one can see that the new Ranger Raptor gets a large grille with silver accents and bold Ford branding.
The Ford Ranger Raptor gets humongous dual-purpose tyres, chunky body cladding all around. The new Ranger Raptor gets aggressive front and rear bumpers and it also gets metallic front bash plate. The side profile and the rear of this lifestyle pick-up truck look really good and it will have a great road presence out on the Indian streets, thanks to its sheer dimensions. The exact colour options are not known but it will be surely available in Ford's Performance Blue colour and there will be some other colour shades too.

2021 Ford Ranger Raptor BS6 - Engine and Transmission
As already mentioned before, the Ford Ranger pick-up range shares its mechanicals with the Ford Endeavour. However, while the India-spec current Endeavour gets a single-turbo diesel engine, the upcoming new Ford Ranger Raptor gets a twin-turbo diesel engine. It will be powered by an all-new BS6-compliant 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. This oil-burner will churn out 213 PS of maximum power at 3750 RPM and a colossal 500 Nm of peak torque between 1750-2000 RPM. The engine will come mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox and it will get proper 4x4 drivetrain with a bunch of driving modes. This is the same 10-speed AT that we also get in the India-spec BS6-compliant Ford Endeavour.

2021 Ford Ranger Raptor BS6 - Features
Now, talking about features, so first of all, let me you the drive modes of this lifestyle pick-up truck. The four-wheel-drive system of the new Ford Ranger Raptor gets six different modes within a Terrain Management System. Out of the six modes, two are for on-road performance namely Normal mode and Sports mode. For off-road duties, it gets four different modes namely Grass / Gravel / Snow mode, Mud / Sand mode, Rock mode and Baja mode (named after the famous Baja Desert Rally). The Baja mode of this pick-up truck reduces chassis intervention for maximum attack over rough terrain.
The new Ford Ranger Raptor will get a lot of creature comforts and safety features too. It will get a large 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The safety features of the pick-up truck will include several airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program with Roll-over Stability and Traction Control, Hill Launch Assist, Hill Descent Control, front and rear parking sensors with a reverse parking camera, cruise control, etc. The Ford Ranger Raptor will also get an electronically locking rear differential and many more off-road-oriented features and it will be very capable on all sorts of terrains. It even gets humongous 33-inch off-road specific tyres.
2021 Ford Ranger Raptor BS6 - Launch Timeline and Expected Price
Finally, talking about the launch timeline and expected price, so according to the latest media reports from AutoCar India, the new 2021 Ford Ranger Raptor BS6 will hit the Indian showrooms in the second half of 2021. It will be brought to India in very limited numbers. Ford will directly import the Ranger Raptor in India for the prospective customers under the 2,500-unit homologation-free route. It won't be affordable by any means and it is expected to be priced around Rs. 70 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. It will be a great deal for the niche set of buyers who aspire to own this premium off-road-oriented lifestyle pick-up truck. It won't have any direct rivals in the Indian market but indirectly, it will rival against the Land Rover Defender, Jeep Wrangler and the Mercedes-Benza G350d.
