It's been a while since Isuzu has updated MU-X to the BS6 form. Their website says, Coming Soon and now with the launch in the global markets, we believe, the company will ditch the ongoing version for a newer one. Yes, we can expect a 2021 Isuzu MU-X which is going to be more powerful and be aesthetically appealing.

Dimension wise, the new Isuzu MU-X is taller, wider and longer than the current version which was sold in India. It now measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,870 in width and 1,875 mm in height. It also carries a wheelbase of 2,855 mm which makes up for more space in the cabin. Furthermore, the SUV gets 235 mm of ground clearance.

Visually, the front is now slimmer than before and gets LED bi-projector headlights. A new bumper design with lower grille integrating into the headlamp section along with new fog light housing. Like the front, the rear is now sharper and gets wrap around taillights with new bumper design. The bumper gets integrated reflectors. The manufacturer is also providing 20-inch alloy wheel design as an option but we don't expect it to come to Indian shores anytime soon.
Unlike the older generation model, this one has surely improved comfort and convenience factors. The SUV now receives a dual-tone leather upholstery design, 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other features like an electronic parking brake, drive modes, traction control, 8-way adjustable powered driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, Terrain command shift on the fly and adaptive cruise control will make a way in the MU-X. The latter comes with MG Gloster at this time.

The 2021 MU-X comes with two engine options - 1.9-litre bi-turbo diesel and a 3.0L turbo-diesel unit. For Indian shores, the latter will make a way in a more powerful avatar. The 3.0L will now make 188 bhp at 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 450 Nm at 1,600-2,000 rpm. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed automatic unit and will come with a 4WD as standard.
Once launched, SUV is expected to be priced to an upwards of Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It will rival with Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, MG Gloster and Mahindra Alturas G4.
