The top-of-the-line Audi A8 luxury sedan is all set for launch in India. It will compete against heavyweights like the Mercedes Benz S-Class, and BMW 7 series.
Audi India is all set to launch the updated version of their most premium sedan, the A8. The German marquee released a teaser video on its social media handle, and going by the looks of it, the 2022 Audi A8 is expected to launch by this month. Its ex-showroom prices are yet to be confirmed, however, the current model retails at Rs. 1.57 crore.
The 2022 Audi A8 was showcased earlier in November 2021. The facelift A8 features an updated front fascia, wherein the grille is now much more pronounced, and wide. Furthermore, it will be available in four new metallic color shades, and 5 new matte shades. The new grille features a bolder and more aggressive mesh design made up of chrome, flanked by sleeker-looking DigitalMatrix LED headlamps. Unlike the current models corporate outlook, the upcoming 2022 Audi A8 looks quite sporty in this iteration. The front bumper is further flanked by air dams, and a thick chrome strip surrounds it that spans the width of the bumper. The rear profile sees minimal updates, with the same OLED strip that conjoins the LED tail lamps.
The overall cabin design of the upcoming Audi A8 will remain the same as its pre-facelift model. But this time, rear-seat passengers will also get the added advantage of a 10.1-inch infotainment screen alongside a touchscreen remote. A cooler with its own bar compartment, and a fold-out console table, with perfume functions, keeps the executive arrangement complete in the second row.
Audi is also slated to launch, the A8s sportier iteration the S8. It will be properly equipped to hit those turns, with a standard sports rear differential and all-wheel steering system. Both these two features are also available with the A8, for an additional cost. However, the latter does come with an adaptive suspension system, that keeps the rides sublime.

Mechanically, the 2022 Audi A8 will be powered by the 3.0-liter V6 TFSI engine that produces 340 bhp and 50 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox. Audis QUATTRO all-wheel drive remains omnipresent, as ever. Audi has also confirmed that the A8 will get a fully-electric version, which will be the production version of the Audi Grandsphere concept.
