Benelli globally debuted their updated Leoncino 250. The small-displacement motorcycle is scheduled to arrive in India in 2022.
Benelli globally unveiled the 2022 iteration of the Leoncino 250. The quarter-litre motorcycle gets cosmetic changes and a new LED headlight unit that is derived from its elder Leoncino 500. Mechanically, the 2022 Benelli Leoncino 250 draws power from the same Euro-5 compliant 250 cc, single-cylinder engine. The updated motorcycle will first launch in the European market, and it is slated to launch in India by 2022.
Despite the changes, the 2022 Benelli Leoncino 250 has mostly remained the same. It continues to sit on the same trellis frame. Other design features that have remained the same include the sloping fuel tank, a single-piece seat, side-mounted exhaust, the rear-tire hugger mounted number plate holder, and circular mirrors. Dimension-wise, the bike stays the same as well and is 2,030 mm long, 830 mm wide, and 1,100 mm tall.

Also, the Leoncino 250 packs in a digital instrument console, with an all-LED set up both for the headlight and taillight. It rides on 17 aluminium wheels, and suspension duties are handled by 41 mm inverted forks for the front and a mono-shock unit for the rear. Besides, the Leoncino 250 comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS.
As mentioned before, the Leoncino 250 draws power from the same 250 cc single-cylinder engine that comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This mill puts out 25.4 hp @ 9,250 rpm and a peak torque of 21 Nm @ 8,000 rpm.

In the European market, the Leoncino 250 is available for 3,740 Euros, which roughly translates to Rs. 3.2 lakh in India. The updated exterior looks coupled with an affordable price tag make the Leoncino 250 quite the package. In its segment, it gives stiff competition to the likes of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250. The official launch date in India hasnt been confirmed as of yet, but if things go right, the motorcycle will debut early-2022.
