Hyundai has commenced the bookings of their upcoming compact SUV, 2022 Venue at Rs 21,000 and it will be launched on June 16. Along with this, this Kia Sonet rival will bring in many first in segment features, a new style language, better safety equipment and many more things.
Mechanically, Venue will be powered by three engine options - 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0L turbocharged petrol and 1.5L oil burner. The former will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and the turbo petrol motor will get a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT as an option. It is expected that the carmaker might axe the 6-speed manual from the 1.0L Venue facelift.
The 1.5L, four-cylinder, the turbocharged diesel motor will continue to make 99 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 240 Nm. It will retain the 6-speed manual transmission as before. We can expect the 6-speed torque converter with the 1.5L diesel too as an option and the power and torque figures will stick to 113 bhp and 250 Nm respectively. This spec is the same as the Hyundai Creta.
