2023 BMW X1 - Design & Features
The new X1 now gets a flair of fresh design language from BMW. As seen on all new-gen BMWs, the X1 also gets a flashy front design. The LED headlights are revised with a stretched-out layout. Similarly, the front bumper gets big air dams and the kidney grille has also grown in size. Sadly, no foglamps on this one. The side profile also gets revised body lines. Even the alloy wheel design pattern is new and looks refreshing.
However, the most radical changes to exteriors are done to the rear. The sporty spoiler and straight boot design are well supported by new LED taillights. Additionally, the edgy rear bumper gets black to contrast with sharp elements. The overall design from the rear is amazing as it has made the looks more butch of X1.
In terms of interior design, the dashboard and cabin are extensively redone. The dashboard gets a dual-screen setup for infotainment as well as a driver display. The combo of 10.7-inch infotainment & 10.25-inch driver console makes the cabin feel futuristic. Additionally, the new X1 gets the latest features like ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, etc. BMW has also provided wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, adaptive LED lights, a digital key (where you can lock and unlock using your phone), an automatic tailgate, massaging seats for front occupants, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
BMW X1 - Engine & Specifications
BMW is offering two engine options on the new X1. The petrol engine is a new 1.5-lt, three-cylinder unit. This engine makes a peak power of 138 bhp & 230 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, this tiny engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic gearbox. However, the petrol engine gives an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 16 kmpl. The petrol engine X1 is priced at Rs 45.90 lakh.
On the other hand, the diesel engine is the same 2-lt powertrain as on the previous model. This engine is known for its frugal nature and power. It makes a peak power of 150 bhp & 360 Nm of peak torque. BMW is selling the diesel engine with an M-Sport badge only. However, if looked over the spec sheet of it, the diesel engine is detuned to make it more fuel economical. Hence, it is certified to give an upward fuel economy of 20 kmpl. This engine also uses a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The diesel M-Sport has been priced at Rs 47.90 lakh.
Verdict
