BMW India has unveiled the facelift of its X5 SUV, with a starting price of Rs 93.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The newly launched BMW X5 is manufactured locally at the BMW Group Plant Chennai and is now accessible in petrol and diesel options at all BMW India dealerships. The X5's redesigned exterior displays a number of significant characteristics. These include the BMW Selective Beam system, matrix Adaptive LED headlights with fashionable blue highlights, and the illuminated BMW kidney grille. Modern air breathers are featured on the front side panels. The new BMW X5 comes standard with roof rails and external lines finished in satin aluminum on the xLine model. It has reworked outer portions of the rear apron and Glacier Silver underride protection at the back. The rear lights have an integrated X motif and a horizontal L form. Additionally, the standard equipment now includes larger 21-inch light-alloy wheels. For the M Sport package, there is an exclusive M-specific design, Black high-gloss roof rails, M High-gloss Shadowline trim, and a rear apron with Dark Shadow inlay and trapezoidal exhaust tailpipe trims.

The interior of the SUV has undergone a significant redesign in the new BMW X5. A notable addition is the fully digital BMW Widescreen Curved Display, which comprises a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inches control display. Another new feature is the ambient light bar. In the new BMW X5 xLine, the standard sport seats are equipped, offering heating functionality, lumbar support, and electric adjustment options. The driver's seat includes a memory function. On the M Sport variant, Comfort seats are provided, offering full electric adjustment for both front seats along with active seat ventilation. The SUV includes a 4-zone automatic climate control system, a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, and a panoramic sunroof. The M Sport variant boasts exclusive interior packages, such as an M leather steering wheel, M Headliner Anthracite, aluminum M footrest, and pedal covers, and other M specific changes.

BMW X5 - Safety Features

The safety features provided by the X5 includes six airbags, attentiveness assistance to monitor driver alertness, dynamic stability control (DSC) with cornering brake control (CBC), an electric parking brake with an auto hold function, side-impact protection measures, an electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mount, among other features. Driver assistance system includes Cruise Control, the Attentiveness Assistant, Parking Assistant Professional with Surround View Camera, Drive Recorder, remote parking via smartphone and Reversing Assistant.

BMW X5 - Engine Specifications

The new BMW X5 now houses a 3-liter 6-cylinder in-line petrol engine, delivering an impressive output of 381 horsepower and a maximum torque of 520 Nm. This enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. Another engine option available is a 3-liter 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine, generating 286 bhp of power and a maximum torque of 650 Nm. With this engine, the car achieves a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 6.1 seconds. Notably, both engines feature a 48V Electrical Motor with a power output of 12 bhp and a torque output of 200 Nm. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission, offering the driver access to different driving modes in both automatic and manual settings, including COMFORT, EFFICIENT, SPORT, and SPORT PLUS.
