The Trax Cruiser has been a hit in rural markets of India for a long time. However, Citiline is more suited for urban use. Operators who work with bigger organizations will find it helpful in ferrying people in comfort. While it looks nearly the same as the Cruiser, it gets body-coloured bumpers and a Citiline logo on the front grille. Even the front grille is body coloured to make it look more premium.

The main difference is inside the cabin. The Citiline can occupy 10 passengers (including the driver) with its captain seats and split seats. The last row seats are 60:40 split capable, thus, creating space for the luggage area as well. Meanwhile, the rest of the cabin equipment is the same as the Trax Cruiser.

Now, the propelling power comes via the Mercedes-Benz-sourced 2.6-lt turbo-diesel engine. This engine generates a peak power of 91 bhp & 250 Nm of peak torque. While it looks less on paper, the short gearing and early powerband help it achieve tremendous tractability. In fact, this engine makes its peak torque only at just 1,400 RPM. Also, a 5-speed manual transmission is offered as standard on it. To enhance safety, Force has also fitted ABS & EBD as standard on the Citiline.

Verdict

Currently, Maharashtra and Delhi state transport rules allow only 8-seater vehicles to be registered as private. Hence, Citiline will only be sold as a commercial vehicle in these two states. The rest of the state owners can have Citiline with private registration. Citiline is a good option for fleet owners and individual taxi operators who look for a complete utility solution in one vehicle.
