A muscular 150cc motorcycle called the Hunk was once offered for sale in India by Hero Motocorp. Due to lower sales, the brand stopped selling the Hunk in 2017 after offering it for a few years. Nevertheless, the company sells the Hero Xtreme 160R under the name Hero Hunk 160R in select foreign markets and reports strong sales. Recently, two 2023 Hero Hunk test mules that are ready for production have been spotted in Jaipur, close to the Hero Tech Center.

2023 Hero Hunk Spied On Test
The test mules spotted with a similar design language as the Xtreme 200R that used to come in the Indian market. It shares nearly all of the same body panels, headlamp designs, exhaust canister designs, alloy wheel designs, tank and tank shroud designs, and taillight designs. The engine is the only significant modification. The 2023 Hero Hunk, which was seen testing, had a 160cc engine similar to the one on the Xtreme 160R.
This could be a sign that Hero Motocorp might have intentions to introduce the motorcycle in India. If it has the same engine as the 160R, it will have a five-speed transmission and produce 15 bhp of power and 14 Nm of peak torque. The bike has a number of standard features, including a semi-digital instrument console, LED headlamps and taillamps, and single-channel ABS. With these essential components, the brand can maintain a competitive price. The company may also release a model with connected features enabled by Hero Xtec technology.

2023 Hero Hunk Expected Price If Launched In India
Bajaj Pulsar, TVS Apache, and Honda Unicorn dominate the 150-160 cc market. Hero only sells the Xtreme 160R in the market; if the company wants to introduce the Hunk 160R, customers will have a choice among the two Hero vehicles. The Hero Hunk 160R is anticipated to cost between Rs. 1.10 and 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the company has not made any statements regarding the introduction of the Hero Hunk in the Indian market.
Verdict: The new test mules could be being evaluated for the global market. However, Hero Motocorp would be able to attract more customers and provide more options in the 150-160cc motorbike segment if it decides to reintroduce the Hunk in India.
