Maruti Fronx
Primarily based on the Baleno premium hatchback, the Fronx has succeeded for Maruti in India. Sold via Nexa outlets, it is available with three engines and two gearbox options. Although crash test ratings are awaited and might be average at best, the Fronx scores high marks for space and comfort. It is a value-based offering for the masses, and for enthusiasts, Maruti offers a 1000cc turbo petrol option. We love how it looks, and this is a recommended alternative to the regular sub 4m compact SUVs.

Variant Recommendation
For those on a tight budget, we strongly suggest considering the base Sigma or Delta variant. However, they do provide options for the 1.2-liter petrol and CNG engines. The recommended choice in the Fronx lineup is the Zeta. It has a swift 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine , plus, factory-fitted alloy wheels, a touchscreen infotainment system, and more. Although the Alpha variant comes at a higher cost, it includes all the premium features. Alternatively, explore competitors like the Nissan Magnite for more feature-rich and budget-friendly options.
Expert Verdict on Fronx
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is comfy and trustworthy. Maruti Suzuki cars are famous for being reliable and using fuel efficiently. Now, they're also adding more cool stuff to their cars, and the Fronx is a great example. It has different powertrains on offer, so it's good for lots of different people. It feels nice to ride in, fits 5 people, and it's a great pick if you're looking for a car under Rs 10 lakh.
Pros & Cons of Maruti Fronx
Should I buy the Fronx?
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is an excellent choice for those looking for a car under Rs 10 lakh. It boasts an impressive range of features, ample space, reliability, and a fuel-efficient engine. It offers a satisfying ride quality and houses a dependable engine. If you're in the market for a diesel engine within this budget, you might want to consider the Hyundai Venue, KIA Sonet, or Tata Nexon as alternatives. However, it's worth noting that the Fronx is the only model with a factory-fitted CNG option.
- The Fronx is a sub-4-meter car that resembles the Baleno, with a crossover-like appeal. Its design draws inspiration from the Grand Vitara.
- The front DRLs and fixed headlamps give it a distinctive look. The Fronx is detailed in matte black cladding, and the sloping rear roof adds a sporty touch , this adds to its appeal in its category.
- Top-end models have 16-inch alloy wheels with 195mm wide tires. The back features a connected LED bar that gives it a stylish LED effect.
Fronx body specifications:
Wheel Size | R16 |
Seating Capacity | 5 seaters |
Ground Clearance | 190 mm |
Boot Space | 308 liters |
- The inside of the Fronx looks a lot like the Baleno but differs by the new colour scheme used by Maruti. The top part of the dashboard is black, lower part is dark brown. There are silver touches to make it more interesting.
The steering wheel and speedometer remind you of the Baleno. But, the orientation of the touchscreen and air vents is different.
- The armrests on all four doors are soft, adding to the fancy feel. In the back, there's a lot of space for your knees and legs more than the Sonet, the problem is the sloping roof, which makes the headroom less.
- The feature list of the Fronx comes to a good number . It includes automatic climate control. It also has a HUD (head-up display) and a 22.86cm Smartplay Pro+ unit. Plus, it has a wireless function for Android Auto/CarPlay and Arkamys speakers. It also has a wireless charger, paddle shifters, rear A/C vents, and LEDs all around. It also has other features witht he higher variants .
- The top model has a 360-degree camera. It also has an electronic stability program, hill hold assist and side and curtain airbags. Additionally, it has front airbags , a rearview camera and the three-point ELR seat belts for all seats and an ISOFIX child seat restraint system.
Fronx features:
360 Degree Camera | Yes |
TPMS | No |
Sunroof | No |
Wireless Charger | Yes |
Ventilated Seats | No |
- The Fronx and the Baleno have similar suspensions. But the suspension on the fronx has been adjusted to match the style and larger size of the tires
- The bigger tires on the Fronx compared to the Baleno help it handle bumps and uneven roads well. there isnt much body roll while rusing the turns and the light steering adds to its pros . It handles well at higher speeds too. If you're looking for a family car, the Fronx is a good choice.

We Will Recommend That Opting For Base Or Mid Version Of The Grand Vitara Is A Better Option Over The Fronx Boosterjet Though The Boosterjet Engine Is Powerful But The Top Model Of Fronx Does Not Offer A Great Value For Money Deal As Compared To The Delta Variant Of The Grand Vitara.
