CNG option makes it a more fuel-efficient option in the segment.
Has all the comfort features like a 360-degree camera, and heads-up display.
What could have been better
It does not offer diesel or turbo petrol engine option

The AMT transmission is not as smooth in shift compared to its rivals.
Should I buy the Glanza?
The Toyota Glanza is a great product in terms of reliability, performance, and features on offer. It is based on the Baleno and is identical to its design language, and every aspect. It is a great family car on the market with Toyota’s reliability badge on it. It even has a CNG option for a more fuel-efficient option. Though it has some misses as well and if you are looking for some more options, then Hyundai I20 or TATA Altroz are great choices on offer.
- The design language of the Glanza is quite similar to its sibling Baleno. The front face is now refreshed and the new design looks more appealing and has a bold characteristic. The front face gets chrome on the grill and lower parts enhancing the premium appeal.
- The LED projector setup of the headlamps with LED DRLs gives a good presence. The throw of these headlights is great and one of the best in the segment. It has a front camera placed for the 360-degree camera.
- Coming to the side, it has a different design of alloys. The 16” alloy wheels give a bold presence and the chrome door handles increase the premium characteristic. The chrome strip on the window line has a sophisticated appearance.
- At the rear, the design is identical to the Baleno. The LED taillamps of the Glanza are identical to the Baleno. There is a subtle chrome line that houses the rear camera. The loading lib is a little higher, which makes putting luggage a tedious task.
- As we step inside the interiors of the Glanza, the dual-tone treatment of the dashboard gives a great presence. Though the interiors are identical to the Baleno, they still provide a sense of elegance inside. The use of a gloss black finish is a nice touch but it is a fingerprint magnet.
- The 9” touchscreen infotainment system provides wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple Carplay. It is crisp in display quality and slick to use with an easy interface. The automatic climate control is a nice touch. It has some great used-to-have features like a 360-degree camera and Heads-up display. But, it lacks ventilated seats or a wireless charger, which rivals offer.
- Considering the storage spaces, there are ample cup holders and bottle holders for your storage. The steering wheel and instrument cluster are all identical to the sibling Baleno.
- The Toyota Glanza comes equipped with the same engine as that of the sibling Baleno. It is the same 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol engine that comes equipped with a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission. Earlier it used to offer CVT but now it is dropped to AMT.
- This 1.2L motor churns out 90 BHP with 115 Nm of peak torque. This motor is utterly smooth and refinement levels are top class. It even has idle start/stop technology that helps in enhancing fuel efficiency in city conditions.
- The 5-speed gearbox is smooth with shifts and the power delivery is linear. The AMT gearbox performs quite well and there is some jerk which is felt on shifts.
- The claimed fuel efficiency for a petrol engine is about 22 km/L. In real life, it would return about 18-20 km/L, depending on how you drive. On highways, it can stretch to more than 25 km/L. In CNG mode, it has a claimed efficiency of 30 km/kg and in real life, it would return about 25-27 km/kg very easily.
Glanza engine specifications:
| Transmission | Manual & Automatic |
| Mileage | 30.61 |
| Engine | 1197 cc |
| Power | 88.50 bhp @ 6000 rpm |
| Torque | 113 Nm @ 4400 rpm |
| Drive Train | FWD |

- The suspension setup on the Toyota Glanza is on the softer side. It has a pliant ride quality and the sears are well-cushioned and provide great comfort. The suspension absorbs the bumps and potholes and at high speeds, it maintains the line on the tarmac.
- Considering the cabin dimensions, it has great space at the rear seat. There is ample knee room, leg room and headroom on offer. It is a great space to be in and 3 passengers are comfortable at the rear. The rear AC vents and charging ports take care of the rear passengers
- The steering wheel provides a good feel and feedback on the roads. It is light and easy to manoeuvre in city traffic. Around the bends, it provides decent feedback and could have been much more responsive. When out on highways, it could have been done with a better feel and feedback to provide more confidence.
