Adopting a market hit, the Baleno from Maruti, Toyota has managed to add a solid product to its portfolio. The Toyota Glanza being a rebadged Baleno gets a lot of things working in its favour. 1. 9-inch Infotainment Touchscreen
V variant- Rs. 9.78 lakhs onwards
The Toyota Glanza features a 9-inch Smart Playcast infotainment touchscreen that handles all multimedia functions, including music and connectivity features. It supports wireless smartphone projection and also serves as the display for the 360-degree camera system. The screen provides clear, ample feedback without obstructing the drivers view of the road.
Competition Check- Both the Hyundai i20 and the Tata Altroz come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen in their Asta (O) and XZ LUX variants respectively, which is a notch above the Glanza's.
2. Heads-Up Display
V variant- Rs. 9.78 lakhs onwards
Another helpful feature for drivers is the Heads-up Display, which projects crucial driving information directly in the drivers line of sight. This includes details such as speed, gear selection, navigation directions, and more. This is something that you will find using on a daily basis and not just a gimmicky add-on.
Competition Check- While the Tata Altroz gets this with the Racer edition, the i20 completely misses out on this one.
3. 360-Degree Camera

The Glanza improves its practicality in tight spaces with a 360-degree camera system. This feature provides a complete surround view on the infotainment screen, making it easier to maneuver through sharp turns and navigate narrow or crowded areas, including steep hill roads.
Competition Check- While the i20 again skips a surround view system, the ALtroz offers it from its XZ LUX trim onwards.
4. 6 Airbags

From the second to top G variant, the Glanza comes with dual front airbags with side and curtain airbags, taking the total to 6 airbags. This is something that I hope, will be a standard in future updates as more and more manufacturers are making it a standard equipment.
Competition Check- Hyundai offers 6 airbags as standard across its portfolio and the i20 gets these as standard. Altroz, on the other hand, gets a 6 airbags setup only with its Racer Edition. Going a step backward, the regular Altroz offers just a dual airbags setup, even in its top-spec trim, which is a bit surprising.

5. Automatic Climate Control

Offering an automatic climate control as standard across variants is a commendable feat from the brand. This feature, again, is not a redundant one and finds itself in use with almost every drive. Other features that the base E variant offers include projector headlamps, all-power windows, keyless entry, LED tail lamps, Hill-hold assist, Toyota i-Connect, and much more.
Competition Check- The Tata Altroz provides fully automatic climate control starting from the XT variant, while the Hyundai i20 includes this feature from the Sportz variant and above.

Verdict
Glanza is a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno, but has been restrained by the limited market availabilty of the Toyota dealerships and service network. If this shortcoming, Toyota somehow manages to address, the Glanza could easily replicate the success of the Baleno much more rapidly and effectively.
