Hyundai has started taking bookings after teasing the new-gen Hyundai Verna. It has stirred the relaxed segment once again and got people excited. But not letting the rivals take advantage, the Honda is gearing up super fast towards its flagship sedan, the 2023 Honda City facelift launch. It will directly rival the likes of the 2023 Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Skoda Slavia, and the Volkswagen Virtus.

5th-gen 2023 Honda City Facelift- New Variant And Features Incoming
This will be the first update to the City after its launch in 2020. It is only expected to get a slight cosmetic tweaking with some feature updates. With a few minor changes, the City will be offered in a new variant in the Petrol-Hybrid powertrain to make it more appealing to the customers.No major upgrades are coming and but it could see the addition of new features such as ventilated seats and wireless charger, which the rivals are offering.
When compared to the standard petrol variant, the ZX petrol-hybrid variant is significantly more expensive. The new variant will be introduced to bridge the price gap between the models and would be placed below the top-end hybrid model.

Engine Remains Same But Diesel Powertrain To Be Axed
The City facelift will come with the same 121hp, 1.5-liter petrol engine, mated to either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. There is also the 126hp, Atkinson Cycle 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain mated to an e-CVT transmission.
Honda will be doing away with the 100hp, 1.5-liter diesel engine in the City. This is due to the upcoming RDE norms that come into effect from April 2023
Pricing
Honda currently offers the e: HEV powertrain only on the top-end, fully loaded ZX trim. Priced at Rs 19.89 lakh (ex-showroom), its also much more expensive than the standard City petrol that currently tops out at Rs 15.62 lakh (ex-showroom).
With the new variant, Honda will introduce a more affordable trim of the City Hybrid. This will bridge the gap between petrol and the petrol-hybrid.
