Tata Nexon.ev Powertrain & Charging
The manufacturer has also made significant alterations to the powertrain, resulting in increased driving range. The Nexon.ev is now available in two primary variants: Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR), replacing the previous Prime and Max options. The MR variant is equipped with a 30 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 325 kilometers and a peak power output of 127 bhp. On the other hand, the LR variant features a larger 40.2 kWh battery pack, providing an impressive 465-kilometer range and a power output of 143 bhp. Both variants maintain the same torque level of 215 Nm.
Using the AC wall box charger and the portable charger, the EV can be fully charged, from 10% to 100%, within 10.5 hours for one variant and 15 hours for the other. With the 7.2 kW charger, it takes approximately 4.3 hours and 6 hours, respectively, to achieve the same level of charge. For rapid charging, a DC fast charger can charge the vehicle from 10% to 100% in just 56 minutes, regardless of the variant. The vehicle is equipped with the capability to provide power through Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing for a load of up to 3.3 kW.

Verdict
The Tata Nexon EV has been updated to offer extended range and improved features, making it more appealing to potential buyers. The increased range addresses concerns about range anxiety, although the actual driving range may vary depending on individual driving habits. Despite these improvements, the Nexon EV will still face competition from the Mahindra XUV400 and is expected to come with a higher price tag compared to the pre-facelift version.
