MINI India is gearing up to launch the 2024 Mini Cooper S and the Countryman E in India. Both the offerings will make their India debut on July 24, 2024. BMW Group will also launch the all-new BMW 5 Series LWB on the same day. This is the first time that the Countryman is making its way to India in an electric version. Mini Countryman Electric: Design
The upcoming electric SUV features a unique design even after being built on the same platform as the BMW iX1. Talking about the front fascia, the electric SUV comes with LED headlamps and DRLs and a signature octagonal grille. While at the rear, the new-gen Countryman E features refreshed taillights and tailgates with all-new LED elements.
Interiors
The 2024 Mini Countryman Electric gets a simple yet elegant dashboard layout. In terms of features, it has a 9.5-inch circular OLED infotainment display positioned at the centre. The electric SUV comes with toggle switches for crucial. controls and an advanced HuD. Some other drive-centric features include a MINI Connected technology, a fish-eye camera and an electrically adjustable driver seat with massage function.
2024 Mini Countryman Electric: Performance
Internationally, Mini Countryman E gets two electric powertrain options which include a single motor and a dual motor setup. The single motor comes with a Front-wheel drive option and churns out 201 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the dual motor gets the AWD option and generates 309 bhp and 494 Nm of torque. However, both variants get the same 66.45kWh battery pack, the single motor option provides 462 km of range and the dual motor variant returns 433 km of range on a single charge. These powetrain options and power figure may differ in the India spec model of the Countryman E.
Price Expectations and Rivals
The upcoming Mini Countryman Electric will come to India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. The ICE powered Countryman starts with a price tag of Rs. 48 lakh (ex-showroom). However, The electric countepart of the SUV will starts with a price tag of around 70 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the Countryman Electric will go against other premium SUV such as the Kia EV6, Volvo XC40 Recharge and the BMW iX1.
