Amidst the gentle patter of raindrops, the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq SUV of the next generation was recently spotted cruising on Indian roads. This marks the first sighting of the model being tested in our country, and notably, it was seen without camouflage, offering a clear view of its features and exterior design. 2025 Skoda Kodiaq: What's Changed?
This upcoming next-generation Skoda Kodiaq SUV, as seen in the captured image, appears in a white paint colour. Up front, noticeable changes include redesigned headlamps and sharper-looking fog lamps. The grille has been redesigned with vertical slats. On the side profile, there aren't significant differences, but the C-pillar window frame shows sharper edges.
Moving to the rear, the LED taillights feature a new U-shaped design, complemented by a revised rear bumper and skid plate. Overall, it closely resembles the new-generation international model of the Kodiaq SUV.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: What Features Are In Store?
When it comes to features, the upcoming model is likely to impress. It's anticipated to include a 13-inch touchscreen, a 10-inch digital display, voice control, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, a premium 12-speaker sound system, a hands-free tailgate, heated seats, a heads-up display, and a panoramic sunroof.
Safety-wise, expect electronic stability control, cruise control, nine airbags, Front / rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera, TPMS, among others. Notably, it's also expected to come equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). The interior design is expected to mirror that of its international counterpart.

The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq SUV was unveiled internationally in October 2023. It comes with a variety of powertrain options, such as a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid technology, and a plug-in hybrid version that pairs the same petrol engine with a 25.7 kWh battery, offering an electric-only range of 100 km.
There are also other internal combustion engine choices available. Looking ahead, it's expected that some of these powertrain options will also be offered in the Indian model.
2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Expected Price, Launch Timeline, And Rivals
Currently, the Kodiaq is offered in a single Laurin and Klement variant priced at Rs 39.99 lakh. When the next-generation Kodiaq launches, it's expected to start from around Rs 40 lakh. While the exact timeline for its release in India hasn't been disclosed, it's likely to happen in 2025. This new model will compete with vehicles like the MG Hector Plus, MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, and Jeep Meridian.

Verdict
Given the demand for small urban cars and improving EV infrastructure, there is good scope for new models under the Rs 10 lakh bracket. The Leapmotor T03 might not be the most striking EV, but it ticks all the right boxes as a solution for urban mobility.
