Aprilia RS 660 is a middle-weight motorcycle from the brand and it will be launched later this year. The looks are inspired by the bigger Aprilia RSV4 featuring full-body fairing, aerodynamic winglets and three-part LED headlight. The front of the Aprilia Rs 660 looks aggressive and sharp owing to the inverted LED DRLs. The side fairing is full of creases and gills along with big Aprilia stickering. The RS 660 will be available with two colour options - Matte Black & Red and Purple & Red which represents Aprilia's sports heritage. The rear of the RS 660 is also inspired by the RSV4.
Powering the motorcycle is a 660cc parallel-twin engine that produces up to 100 HP. The RS 660 boasts of some great technology like wheelie control, five riding modes, cornering ABS, cruise control, bi-directional quick-shifter and 5-inch TFT screen for the rider. The RS 660 gets fully adjustable 41mm USD (Upside Down Forks) at the front and a mono-shock, again fully adjustable, at the rear.
As this new RS 660 has a dry weight of just 169 kgs, it will have a fantastic power to weight ratio and it will sport the latest generation APRC package. The braking job is done by Brembo, sporting twin discs at the front and single at the rear. Thanks to the 2500 vehicles import norm which let the OEMs import 2500 units of any vehicle every year without the need of homologation, it will help Aprilia to price the RS 660 aggressively. If that's done right, it can eat up a large chunk of Kawasaki ZX-6R' sales in India. Aprilia will bring the new RS 660 early next year in the Indian market.
