Ashok Leyland has put together a strong and capable team at its Hosur plant. They will work on powertrains that will run on alternative fuels, like CNG and LNG.
Indias leading commercial vehicle manufacturers and Hinduja Groups flagship company, Ashok Leyland, announced several initiatives for their Green Mobility Future. To enhance their presence in the alternative fuel space, Ashok Leyland has also announced two intermediary locomotive vehicles, starting with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and gradually then moving on to the LNG segment.
To move ahead with this plan, Ashok Leyland has put together a dedicated team of professionals who will work on alternative fuel technologies. This team will be based out of the testing facility in Hosur.

The CTO of Ashoke Leyland, Mr. N. Saravanan further added how the push for CNG and LPG is already there, and that the expectation for other alternative fuels like methanol, hydrogen, etc, that will eventually replace fossil fuels. The CTO has further added that Ashok Leyland is working on alternative powertrains that will be comprised of battery-electric, and fuel cell electric.
Indicating their nudge towards electric powertrains as well, the MD & CEO of Ashok Leyland further added, As we march towards our vision of being among the Top 10 Global CV Makers, it is equally important that we do this sustainably. Our mission is to positively impact humanity and conserve the environment through sustainable energy and mobility solutions. He further added, Future mobility is moving towards alternate fuel technology, and the Hosur Testing facility dedicated today, managed by a talented and capable team will help drive Ashok Leyland's green mobility future''.
