Ashok Leyland, one of India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer plans to foray into used commercial vehicle business. The brand has signed MoU with Mahindra First Choice to create an ecosystem for the used commercial vehicles. With a new phygital platform, Ashok Leyland wants to facilitate exchange and proper disposal and purchase of old commercial vehicles.

Customers will also have access to other value added services such as Ashok Leyland's iALERT telematic system, Driver SAATHi skilling solution, valuation, breakdown services, and fuel solutions via various digital solutions.
Ashok Leyland aims to simplify the used vehicle market by leveraging its digital ecosystem, existing and potential channel partners for physical interactions in over 700+ Parking Yards, and other innovative technologies with its foray into this category. The company is hoping to increase clarity in this arena, which will increase alternatives for reducing the number of outdated commercial vehicles still plying on Indian roads.
Sanjeev Kumar, Ashok Leyland's Head of MHCV, stated of the company's expansion, "It is a great moment for us on this association of AL with MFCW to provide larger option of our customers with combined strength of our knowledge in CV and MFCW strength on the yards, digital ecosystem. We believe this relationship will provide enhanced value to our customers."

Due to the increase in the vehicle waiting period and financial issues, the pre-owned or repurposed automobiles sector has seen exponential and steady expansion since the start of the pandemic. The platform intends to become the first choice among clients considering a vehicle exchange by providing services such as exchange, disposal, hybrid, and special vehicle inspection.
With this approach, the company expects to reach as many single truck owners and fleet owners as possible across India.
